Evault Network Backup: Restore data files
only on pharmacy server
Information
This article contains the updated procedure to restore pharmacy data from the
network backup vault. This procedure
can be performed by the Level 2 STA's or Level 3.
Symptoms
a. Data has to be restored as a result of a full system restore (see Article
#9792 ) due to hardware issues or after a
failure during a PDX software update.
Cause
a. full system restore due to hardware issues or after a failure during a PDX
software update.
Resolution

Follow these steps to fix the issue
1. If a restore is required, please assign the incident to IBM_IR_STASERVER.
L2/L3 Resolution
Follow these steps to fix the issue
***IMPORTANT*** Restore the data files from the most recent safeset – This function
can be performed by
the 2 nd Level STA’s
1. Before beginning the restore, You must remove the old data file directories
prior to restoring the data from the
network backup vault.
a. Logon to the RX server at the store as root.
b. Type: cd / <Enter>

c. Type: rm –f /usr/kmart/* /usr/ldm/* /usr/pdx/* <Enter>
NOTE: This will remove all of the old data files that were restored from the backup
tape.
2. Restore the data files from the most recent portal safeset.
a. Login to portal.evault.com. For details, see Article #9788.
b. On the navigation bar, click Computers. A grid lists available computers.
c. Find the Linux computer with data that you want to restore, and click on the
blue drop down arrow to the far
right to expand its view.
d. Click the Jobs tab.
e. Find the job with data that you want to restore (the job is named rxXXXX (where
XXXX = storenumber), and
click Restore in the job’s Select Action menu.
Note: The Restore dialog box shows the most recent safeset for the job.
3. To restore from the current safeset, follow these steps:
a. In the Encryption Password box, enter the data encryption password. To view the
password hint, click the
Hint button.
b. Select Restore files to their original location.
c. Select Overwrite Existing Files
d. Under Select items, click the + next to the folder to expand the folder list.
e. Scroll down to the usr folder and click the + next to the folder to expand
another folder list.

f. Scroll down and check the boxes next to pdx, ldm and kmart folders. Click the
Include button
g. Click on the Advanced Restore Options button and click on the Yes, Overwrite
locked files option and then
click the Okay button. You will be returned to Restore window.
4. Click the Run Restore button and the restore will begin. The data restore should
take about 45 minutes to 1 1⁄2 hours
depending on the amount of data and network bandwidth at the store. The portal will
log you out after about 10 minutes
so you will need to log back into the portal periodically to check the progress of
the restore.

Evault Network Backup: Restore data files
only on pharmacy server
Information
This article contains the updated procedure to restore pharmacy data from the
network backup vault. This procedure
can be performed by the Level 2 STA's or Level 3.
Symptoms
a. Data has to be restored as a result of a full system restore (see Article
#9792 ) due to hardware issues or after a
failure during a PDX software update.
Cause
a. full system restore due to hardware issues or after a failure during a PDX
software update.
Resolution

Follow these steps to fix the issue
1. If a restore is required, please assign the incident to IBM_IR_STASERVER.
L2/L3 Resolution
Follow these steps to fix the issue
***IMPORTANT*** Restore the data files from the most recent safeset – This function
can be performed by
the 2 nd Level STA’s
1. Before beginning the restore, You must remove the old data file directories
prior to restoring the data from the
network backup vault.
a. Logon to the RX server at the store as root.
b. Type: cd / <Enter>

c. Type: rm –f /usr/kmart/* /usr/ldm/* /usr/pdx/* <Enter>
NOTE: This will remove all of the old data files that were restored from the backup
tape.
2. Restore the data files from the most recent portal safeset.
a. Login to portal.evault.com. For details, see Article #9788.
b. On the navigation bar, click Computers. A grid lists available computers.
c. Find the Linux computer with data that you want to restore, and click on the
blue drop down arrow to the far
right to expand its view.

another folder list.

f. Scroll down and check the boxes next to pdx, ldm and kmart folders. Click the
Include button
g. Click on the Advanced Restore Options button and click on the Yes, Overwrite
locked files option and then
click the Okay button. You will be returned to Restore window.
4. Click the Run Restore button and the restore will begin. The data restore should
take about 45 minutes to 1 1⁄2 hours
depending on the amount of data and network bandwidth at the store. The portal will
log you out after about 10 minutes
so you will need to log back into the portal periodically to check the progress of
the restore.
