Is a leader born or made?– Ghidini Roldi.

What is leadership? There are currently many different definitions of leadership, but
in my opinion the most accurate is the following; Leadership is a set of qualities,
values and abilities that a person possesses or can acquire, which allow him to
lead a group of volunteers towards a desirable goal for the leader and his
followers.

There are people who, due to their genetics, have inherited the necessary
requirements to be a complete leader. They have an easy word, very good results
when socializing, leading, speaking, among other things, which makes it much
easier for them to learn, preserve and improve their leadership.

A leader can be anyone, and also why not, an animal, because of the only it needs
to focus on what he wants to get, reach or achieve.

Under this perspective, there are people more destined to assume the leadership
role and seem to have a certain predisposition to occupy management positions
within organizations. According to this vision, there are certain traits that
differentiate them from the rest, such as ambition and energy, the desire to lead,
honesty and integrity, self-confidence, intelligence and knowledge of the
environment, etc.

In any case, and beyond these specific characteristics, these people are referents
in their organization and are managed from a charismatic leadership, with which
they gain authority and discard command from power.

A leader is also made, since he can at any time look for his improvement following
his goals and ideals, that is, we can take any person and dress him well, give him
training or a complete formation. Anyone who is given the right tools can be a
leader.

Throughout our lives we suffer changes and more changes, so it is conclusive that
a leader can not only be born a leader but also a leader who is made can more
than beat a leader who is born leader.

The question wheter "is a leader born or made?", is a question in which other
aspects should be included, such is the case of the qualities of each individual and
the environment in which these individuals develop. The relationship between
people is of mutual influence, what a person says or does in a face-to-face
relationship, will influence him or others negatively or positively .
There are people who, given their character, show genuine leadership skills.
However, most people need to learn and experiment to become good managers. It
is also important to note that there is no single form of effective leadership, but
different and equally successful leadership styles can be found, depending on the
organization in which they are.

In few words: leadership is not a race, it is a marathon that runs in stages


throughout a career. It doesn't matter how a leader has acquired his skills. There is
no perfect leader or a unique way of leading. What matters is that you possess the
skills necessary for the job and that you are willing to apply those skills for the
benefit of the people you lead. Fortunately, that is something that each of us can
learn.
