Mathematics Homework –Term 3

Homework is a valuable consolidation tool. It also provides the learner with


an opportunity to work independently and nurture sound work ethic.

NOTE the following to ensure QUALITY completion of tasks:


1. Work neatly in pen.
• The use of tipex is not allowed.
• Should you make a mistake, use a pencil to draw a line through your mistake.
2. Do not use a calculator unless the task asks you to.
3. All tasks must be dated, even though a space is not provided for it.
4. Make MASTERING YOUR TIMETABLES a GOAL for this year. You will be tested on timetables
EVERY FRIDAY.
Some fun ways to master your timetables:
• The traditional writing and saying aloud is very powerful as it engages many of your
senses enabling memory skills.
• Make timetable flashcards to play games like BINGO, MATCHING timetables to answers.
• PRACTISE leads to mastery.
5. Homework forms part of your ASSESSMENT-marks are allocated; so give it your best!!!
6. If you’re unsure of any section covered. You must provide evidence of your effort to your teacher.
In this way you can sort out areas of confusion. Your teacher is always available to help you.
Uncertainties should be cleared before homework is due.
7. It is considered homework not done if you haven’t brought your book to school.
8. CONSEQUENCES of homework not being done or signed is a BLACK MARK.
9. HOMEWORK teaches RESPONSIBILITY and DISCIPLINE. Do your best!!
10. Rewards, Merits and stickers can be earned for positive effort.

All homework comes from the Department Book. You are encouraged to do more
than what is prescribed to benefit your performance.
