The "operations" are addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, exponentiation, and

grouping; the "order" of these operations states which operations take precedence (are taken
care of) before which other operations. ... Exponents. Multiplication and Division (from left to
right).
BEDMAS tells us that brackets are the highest priority, then exponents, then both divi- sion and
multiplication, and finally addition and subtraction. This means that we evaluate exponents
before we multiply, divide before we subtract.
