9 OBJECTIVES:
1. Enhance students’ ability in transferring information correctly from listening activity to written activity.
2. Enhance Arabic language skills of the students and develop their critical thinking.
3. Improve students’ efficiency and fluency in the use of language.

13 SYNOPSIS:
This course is foundation course that aims to provide students with the four language skills needed for intermediate proficiency at level
university. The listening and reading components aim to expose students to variety of issues and language strategies, and the speaking
component focuses on the application of speaking skills, through styles of speaking in different situations while the writing component
focuses on the application of writing skills, through making descriptive essay composing. A variety of activities intended at enhancing
students’ soft-skill that includes practice in knowledge, problem-solving, critical thinking and communication have been embedded in the
overall design of the course. This course is also conducted with the integration of Naqli (the Islamic perspective) and Aqli (the conventional
perspective) elements. The elements are embedded throughout the course.
