Our Lord! Accept (this service)

from us: For Thou art the All- Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka ‫ك أَ ْنتَ ال َّس ِمي ُع ال َعلِي ُم‬
َ َّ‫َربَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ ِمنَّا إِن‬
Hearing, the All-knowing antas Sameeaul Aleem [127: ‫]البقرة‬
[2:127]

Our Lord! Make of us Muslims,

bowing to Thy (Will), and of our
Rabbana wa-j'alna Muslimayni
progeny a people Muslim, ‫ك َومِن ُذرِّ َّي ِت َنا أُم ًَّة‬
bowing to Thy (will); and show
laka wa min Dhurriyatina ِ ‫َر َّب َنا َواجْ َع ْل َنا مُسْ لِ َمي‬
َ َ‫ْن ل‬
2. us our place for the celebration
'Ummatan Muslimatan laka wa َ ‫ك َوأَ ِر َنا َم َناسِ َك َنا َو ُتبْ َعلَ ْي َنآ إِ َّن‬
‫ك‬ َ َّ‫مُّسْ لِ َم ًة ل‬
'Arina Manasikana wa tub َّ
‫أنت التوَّ ابُ الرَّ حِي ُم‬ َ َ
of (due) rites; and turn unto us
'alayna 'innaka 'antat-Tawwabu- [128: ‫]البقرة‬
(in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-
Raheem
Returning, Most Merciful
[2:128]

Our Lord! Grant us good in this

world and good in the hereafter,
3. and save us from the
chastisement of the fire
[2:201]
Rabbana atina fid-dunya ‫َر َّب َنا آ ِت َنا فِي ال ُّد ْن َيا َح َس َن ًة َوفِي اآلخ َِر ِة َح َس َن ًة‬
hasanatan wa fil 'akhirati ‫ار‬ َ ‫َوقِ َنا َع َذ‬
ِ ‫اب ال َّن‬
hasanatan waqina 'adhaban-nar [201: ‫]البقرة‬

Our Lord! Bestow on us

endurance, make our foothold
4. sure, and give us help against
the disbelieving folk
[2:250]
Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran ‫ِّت أَ ْقدَا َم َنا‬
ْ ‫صبْراً َو َثب‬ َ ‫َر َّب َنا أَ ْف ِر ْغ َعلَ ْي َنا‬
wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna ‫ين‬َ ‫َوانصُرْ َنا َعلَى ال َق ْو ِم ال َكاف ِِر‬
'alal-qawmil-kafirin [250: ‫]البقرة‬

Our Lord! Condemn us not if we

5. forget or fall into error
Rabbana la tu'akhidhna in- ‫َر َّب َنا الَ ُت َؤاخ ِْذ َنا إِن َّنسِ ي َنا أَ ْو أَ ْخ َطأْ َنا‬
nasina aw akhta'na [286: ‫]البقرة‬
[2:286]

Our Lord! Lay not on us a

Rabbana wala tahmil alayna ‫َر َّب َنا َوالَ َتحْ ِم ْل َعلَ ْي َنا إِصْ رً ا َك َما َح َم ْل َت ُه َعلَى‬
burden Like that which Thou

didst lay on those before us
isran kama hamaltahu 'alal- َ ‫الَّذ‬
‫ِين مِن َق ْبلِ َنا‬
ladheena min qablina [286: ‫]البقرة‬
[2:286]
 Our Lord! Lay not on us a
burden greater than we have
Rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la
strength to bear. Blot out our
sins, and grant us forgiveness.
7.
Have mercy on us. Thou art our
Protector; Help us against those
who stand against faith
[2:286]
‫َر َّب َنا َوالَ ُت َحم ِّْل َنا َما الَ َطا َق َة َل َنا ِب ِه َواعْ فُ َع َّنا‬
taqata lana bihi wa'fu anna
‫نت َم ْوالَ َنا َفانصُرْ َنا‬ َ َ‫اغفِرْ لَ َنا َوارْ َح ْم َنا أ‬
ْ ‫َو‬
waghfir lana wairhamna anta
mawlana fansurna 'alal-qawmil َ ‫َعلَى ْال َق ْو ِم ْال َكاف ِِر‬

Our Lord! (they say), Let not our

hearts deviate now after Thou
Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana
hast guided us, but grant us ‫َر َّب َنا الَ ُت ِز ْغ قُلُو َب َنا َبعْ َد إِ ْذ َه َد ْي َت َنا َو َهبْ لَ َنا‬
ba'da idh hadaytana wa hab lana
8. mercy from Thine own Presence;
milladunka rahmah innaka antal ُ‫نت ْال َوهَّاب‬ َ َ‫ك أ‬ َ ‫نك َرحْ َم ًة إِ َّن‬َ ‫مِن لَّ ُد‬
for Thou art the Grantor of [8: ‫]آل عمران‬
Wahhab
bounties without measure
[3:8]

Our Lord! Thou art He that will

gather mankind Together against
Rabbana innaka jami'unnasi li- َ ‫اس لِ َي ْو ٍم الَّ َري‬
َّ‫ْب فِي ِه إِن‬ ِ ‫ك َجا ِم ُع ال َّن‬
َ ‫َر َّب َنا إِ َّن‬
a day about which there is no

doubt; for Allah never fails in His
Yawmil la rayba fi innAllaha la ‫هّللا َ الَ ي ُْخلِفُ ْالمِي َعا َد‬
yukhliful mi'aad [9: ‫]آل عمران‬
promise.

Our Lord! We have indeed

believed: forgive us, then, our Rabbana innana amanna faghfir َ ‫اغفِرْ لَ َنا ُذ ُنو َب َنا َوقِ َنا َع َذ‬
‫اب‬ ْ ‫َر َّب َنا إِ َّن َنا آ َم َّنا َف‬
10. sins, and save us from the agony lana dhunuubana wa qinna ‫ار‬
ِ ‫الن‬َّ
of the Fire 'adhaban-Naar [16: ‫]آل عمران‬
[3:16]

Our Lord! We believe in what

Thou hast revealed, and we َ َ‫َر َّب َنا آ َم َّنا ِب َما أ‬
Rabbana amanna bima anzalta ‫ت َوا َّت َبعْ َنا الرَّ سُو َل َفا ْك ُت ْب َنا‬
ْ َ‫نزل‬
follow the Messenger. Then write

wattaba 'nar-Rusula fak-tubna ِ َ ‫َم َع ال َّشا ِهد‬

Our Lord! Forgive us our sins

and anything We may have done
Rabbana-ghfir lana dhunuubana
that transgressed our duty: ‫اغفِرْ لَ َنا ُذ ُنو َب َنا َوإِسْ َرا َف َنا فِي أَ ْم ِر َنا‬
ْ ‫ر َّب َنا‬
wa israfana fi amrina wa thabbit
12. Establish our feet firmly, and
aqdamana wansurna 'alal qawmil َِ ‫ِّت أَ ْقدَ ا َم َنا وانصُرْ َنا َعلَى ْال َق ْو ِم ْال َكاف ِِر‬
‫ين‬ ْ ‫َو َثب‬
help us against those that resist [147: ‫]آل عمران‬

Our Lord! Not for naught Hast

Thou created (all) this! Glory to
13. Thee! Give us salvation from the
penalty of the Fire

batila Subhanaka faqina

‫اب‬ َ ‫ت َهذا بَاطِ الً ُسب َْحا َن‬

Our Lord! Any whom Thou dost

admit to the Fire, Truly Thou
Rabbana innaka man tudkhilin
nara faqad akhzaytah wa ma
‫ار َف َق ْد أَ ْخ َز ْي َت ُه َو َما‬
َ ‫ك َمن ُت ْدخ ِِل ال َّن‬
َ ‫َر َّب َنا إِ َّن‬
 coverest with shame, and never
will wrong-doers Find any
helpers!
[3:192]
Our Lord! We have heard the call
of one calling (Us) to Faith, Rabbana innana sami'na
15. 'Believe ye in the Lord,' and we munadiyany-yunadi lil-imani an
have believed. aminu bi Rabbikum fa'aamanna
[3:193]
Our Lord! Forgive us our sins,
blot out from us our iniquities,
16. and take to Thyself our souls in
the company of the righteous
[3:193]
Our Lord! Grant us what Thou
didst promise unto us through
Thine apostles, and save us from
17. shame on the Day of Judgment:
For Thou never breakest Thy
promise
[3:194]
Our Lord! We believe; write us
18. down among the witnesses.
[5:83]
O Allah our Lord! Send us from
heaven a table set (with viands),
that there may be for us - for
the first and the last of us - a
19. solemn festival and a sign from
thee; and provide for our
sustenance, for thou art the best
Sustainer (of our needs)
[5:114]
Our Lord! We have wronged our
own souls: If thou forgive us not
20. and bestow not upon us Thy
Mercy, we shall certainly be lost.

Our Lord! Send us not to the
21. company of the wrong-doers

Rabbana anzil 'alayna ma'idatam ‫نز ْل َعلَ ْي َنا َمآ ِئ َد ًة م َِّن ال َّس َماء َت ُكونُ لَ َنا‬َ

awwa-lina wa aakhirna wa
َ ‫عِ يداً أِّل َوَّ لِ َنا َوآخ ِِر َنا َوآ َي ًة م‬
َ َ‫ِّنك َوارْ ُز ْق َنا َوأ‬
‫نت‬
ayatam-minka war-zuqna wa ‫ِين‬ ِ َّ‫َخ ْي ُر الر‬
َ ‫ازق‬
anta Khayrul-Raziqeen [114: ‫]المائدة‬
Rabbana zalamna anfusina wa il ‫َر َّب َنا َظلَمْ َنا أَنفُ َس َنا َوإِن لَّ ْم َت ْغفِرْ لَ َنا َو َترْ َحمْ َنا‬
lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna ‫ين‬َ ‫لَ َن ُكو َننَّ م َِن ْال َخاسِ ِر‬
lana kunan minal-khasireen [23: ‫]األعراف‬
َّ ‫َر َّب َنا الَ َتجْ َع ْل َنا َم َع ْال َق ْوم‬
Rabbana la taj'alna ma'al ‫ِين‬
َ ‫الظالِم‬ ِ
qawwmi-dhalimeen [47: ‫]األعراف‬
 Our Lord! Decide Thou between
Rabbanaf-tah baynana wa bayna َ َ‫َر َّب َنا ا ْف َتحْ َب ْي َن َنا َو َبي َْن َق ْو ِم َنا ِب ْال َح ِّق َوأ‬
‫نت َخ ْي ُر‬
us and our people in truth, for
22.
Thou art the best to decide.
qawmina bil haqqi wa anta َ ‫ْال َفا ِتح‬
‫ِين‬
Khayrul Fatiheen [89: ‫]األعراف‬
[7:89]

Our Lord! Pour out on us

patience and constancy, and
23. take our souls unto thee as
Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabraw َ ‫َر َّب َنا أَ ْف ِر ْغ َعلَ ْي َنا‬
َ ‫صبْرً ا َو َت َو َّف َنا مُسْ لِم‬
‫ِين‬
wa tawaffana Muslimeen [126: ‫]األعراف‬
Muslims (who bow to thy will)!
[7:126]

Our Lord! Make us not a trial for

Rabbana la taj'alna fitnatal lil- َّ ‫َر َّب َنا الَ َتجْ َع ْل َنا فِ ْت َن ًة لِّ ْل َق ْوم‬
those who practise oppression; ‫ِين ; َو َنجِّ َنا‬
َ ‫الظالِم‬ ِ
qawmidh-Dhalimeen wa najjina
24. And deliver us by Thy Mercy
bi-Rahmatika minal qawmil َ ‫ِك م َِن ْال َق ْو ِم ْال َكاف ِِر‬
‫ين‬ َ ‫ِب َرحْ َمت‬
from those who reject (Thee) [86-85: ‫]يونس‬
kafireen
[10:85-86]

O our Lord! Truly Thou dost

know what we conceal and what
we reveal: for nothing whatever
25.
is hidden from Allah, whether on
earth or in heaven
[14:38]
Rabbana innaka ta'lamu ma ‫ك َتعْ لَ ُم َما ُن ْخفِي َو َما ُنعْ لِنُ َو َما َي ْخ َفى‬
َ ‫َر َّب َنا إِ َّن‬
nukhfi wa ma nu'lin wa ma ‫ض َوالَ فِي‬ َ
ِ ْ‫َعلَى هّللا ِ مِن َشيْ ٍء َفي األر‬
yakhfa 'alal-lahi min shay'in fil- ‫ال َّس َماء‬
ardi wa la fis-Sama' [38: ‫]إبرهيم‬

O our Lord! And accept my

26. Prayer. Rabbana wa taqabbal Du'a
‫َر َّب َنا َو َت َق َّب ْل ُد َعاء‬
[40: ‫]إبرهيم‬
[14:40]

O our Lord! Cover (us) with Thy

Forgiveness - me, my parents,
Rabbana ghfir li wa li wallidayya َ ‫اغفِرْ لِي َول َِوالِ َديَّ َول ِْلم ُْؤ ِمن‬
‫ِين َي ْو َم َيقُو ُم‬ ْ ‫َر َّب َنا‬
and (all) Believers, on the Day ْ
27. wa lil Mu'mineena yawma ُ‫ال ِح َساب‬
that the Reckoning will be
yaqumul hisaab [41: ‫]إبرهيم‬
established!
[14:41]

Our Lord! Bestow on us Mercy

Rabbana 'atina mil-ladunka ‫ك َرحْ َم ًة َو َهيِّئْ لَ َنا مِنْ أَ ْم ِر َنا‬
َ ‫َر َّب َنا آ ِت َنا مِن لَّ ُدن‬
from Thyself, and dispose of our

affair for us in the right way!
Rahmataw wa hayyi lana min ‫َر َش ًدا‬
amrina rashada [10: ‫]الكهف‬
[18:10]

Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten

29.
with insolence against us, or lest Rabbana innana nakhafu any- ‫َر َّب َنا إِ َّن َنا َن َخافُ أَن َي ْف ُر َط َعلَ ْي َنا أَ ْو أَن َي ْط َغى‬
he transgress all bounds yafruta 'alayna aw any-yatgha [45: ‫]طه‬
[20: 45]

Our Lord! We believe; then do

Thou forgive us, and have mercy Rabbana amanna faghfir lana َ َ‫اغفِرْ لَ َنا َوارْ َح ْم َنا َوأ‬
‫نت َخ ْي ُر‬ ْ ‫َر َّب َنا آ َم َّنا َف‬
30. upon us: For Thou art the Best warhamna wa anta khayrur ‫ِين‬
َ ‫الرَّ ا ِحم‬
of those who show mercy Rahimiin [109: ‫]المؤمنون‬
[23: 109]
 Our Lord! Avert from us the
Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is
indeed an affliction grievous,-
31.
Evil indeed is it as an abode, and
as a place to rest in.
[25: 65-66]
O my Lord! Grant unto us wives
and offspring who will be the
32. comfort of our eyes, and give us
(the grace) to lead the righteous
[25:74]
Our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving
33. Ready to appreciate (service)
[35: 34]
Our Lord! Thy Reach is over all
things, in Mercy and Knowledge.
Forgive, then, those who turn in
34. Repentance, and follow Thy
Path; and preserve them from
the Penalty of the Blazing Fire!
[40:7]
And grant, our Lord! that they
enter the Gardens of Eternity,
which Thou hast promised to
them, and to the righteous
among their fathers, their wives,
and their posterity! For Thou art
(He), the Exalted in Might, Full
35. of Wisdom. And preserve them
from (all) ills; and any whom
Thou dost preserve from ills that
Day,- on them wilt Thou have
bestowed Mercy indeed: and
that will be truly (for them) the
highest Achievement.
[40:8-9]
Our Lord! Forgive us, and our
brethren who came before us
into the Faith, and leave not, in
36. our hearts, rancour (or sense of
injury) against those who have
believed.

Rabbanas-rif 'anna 'adhaba
‫اب َج َه َّن َم إِنَّ َع َذا َب َها‬
َ ‫َر َّب َنا اصْ ِرفْ َع َّنا َع َذ‬
jahannama inna 'adhabaha kana
gharama innaha sa'at musta- ‫اءت مُسْ َت َق ًّرا َو ُم َقامًا‬
ْ ‫ان َغ َرامًا إِ َّن َها َس‬
َ ‫َك‬
qarranw wa muqama [66-65: ‫]الفرقان‬
Rabbana Hablana min azwaajina ‫َر َّب َنا َهبْ لَ َنا مِنْ أَ ْز َوا ِج َنا َو ُذرِّ يَّا ِت َنا قُرَّ َة أَعْ ي ٍُن‬
wadhurriy-yatina, qurrata 'ayioni ‫ِين إِ َمامًا‬ َ ‫َواجْ َع ْل َنا ل ِْل ُم َّتق‬
wa-jalna lil-muttaqeena Imaama [74: ‫]الفرقان‬
Rabbana la Ghafurun shakur
‫َر َّب َنا لَ َغفُو ٌر َش ُكو ٌر‬
[34: ‫]فاطر‬
‫ت ُك َّل َشيْ ٍء رَّ حْ َم ًة َوعِ ْلمًا‬ َ ْ‫آ َم ُنوا َر َّب َنا َوسِ ع‬
Rabbana wasi'ta kulla sha'ir
َ
Rahmatanw wa 'ilman faghfir ‫اب‬
َ ‫ك َوق ِِه ْم َعذ‬ َ َّ
َ ‫ِين َتابُوا َوات َبعُوا َس ِبيل‬ َ ‫اغفِرْ لِلَّذ‬ ْ ‫َف‬
lilladhina tabu wattaba'u sabilaka ‫ِيم‬
‫ح‬ ‫ج‬
َ ْ
‫ال‬
ِ
waqihim 'adhabal-Jahiim [7: ‫]غافر‬
Rabbana wa adhkhilhum Jannati
'adninil-lati wa'attahum wa man ‫ت َع ْد ٍن الَّتِي َو َعد َّتهُم َو َمن‬ ِ ‫َر َّب َنا َوأَ ْدخ ِْل ُه ْم َج َّنا‬
salaha min aba'ihim wa ‫ك‬َ ‫صلَ َح مِنْ آ َبائ ِِه ْم َوأَ ْز َوا ِج ِه ْم َو ُذرِّ يَّات ِِه ْم إِ َّن‬ َ
azwajihim wa dhuriyyatihim
‫ت َو َمن َت ِق‬ ِ ‫نت ْال َع ِزي ُز ْال َحكِي ُم َوق ِِه ُم ال َّس ِّي َئا‬ َ َ‫أ‬
innaka antal 'Azizul-Hakim,
waqihimus sayyi'at wa man ‫ك ه َُو ْال َف ْو ُز‬ َ ِ‫ت َي ْو َم ِئ ٍذ َف َق ْد َر ِح ْم َت ُه َو َذل‬
ِ ‫ال َّس ِّي َئا‬
taqis-sayyi'ati yawma'idhin faqad ْ
‫ال َعظِ ي ُم‬
rahimatahu wa dhalika huwal [9-8: ‫]غافر‬
fawzul-'Adheem
Rabbana-ghfir lana wa li 'ikhwani ‫ِين َس َبقُو َنا‬ َ ‫اغفِرْ لَ َنا َوإِل ِ ْخ َوا ِن َنا الَّذ‬
ْ ‫َر َّب َنا‬
‫اًّل‬
nalladhina sabaquna bil imani wa َّ ِّ
َ ‫وب َنا غِ للذ‬
‫ِين‬ ُ
ِ ‫ان َواَل َتجْ َع ْل فِي قُل‬ ِ ‫ِباإْل ِي َم‬
la taj'al fi qulubina ghillal- ‫آ َم ُنوا‬
lilladhina amanu [10: ‫]الحشر‬
 Our Lord! Thou art indeed Full of
37. Kindness, Most Merciful. Rabbana innaka Ra'ufur Rahim
َ ‫َر َّب َنا إِ َّن‬
‫ك َرؤُ وفٌ رَّ حِي ٌم‬
[10: ‫]الحشر‬
[59:10]

Our Lord! In Thee do we trust,

and to Thee do we turn in
38. repentance: to Thee is (our)
Rabbana 'alayka tawakkalna wa- َ ‫ك أَ َن ْب َنا َوإِ َلي‬
‫ْك ْالمَصِ ي ُر‬ َ ‫ْك َت َو َّك ْل َنا َوإِلَ ْي‬
َ ‫رَّ َّب َنا َعلَي‬
ilayka anabna wa-ilaykal masir [4: ‫]الممتحنة‬
Final Goal
[60:4]

Our Lord! Make us not a (test

and) trial for the Unbelievers,
but forgive us, our Lord! for
39.
Thou art the Exalted in Might,
the Wise.
[60:5]
Rabbana la taj'alna fitnatal
‫اغفِرْ لَ َنا‬
ْ ‫ِين َك َفرُوا َو‬ َ ‫َر َّب َنا اَل َتجْ َع ْل َنا فِ ْت َن ًة لِّلَّذ‬
lilladhina kafaru waghfir lana
Rabbana innaka antal 'Azizul- ‫نت ْال َع ِزي ُز ْال َحكِي ُم‬َ َ‫ك أ‬ َ ‫َر َّب َنا إِ َّن‬
Hakim [5: ‫]الممتحنة‬

Our Lord! Perfect our Light for

Rabbana atmim lana nurana ‫ك َعلَى ُك ِّل‬
َ ‫اغفِرْ لَ َنا إِ َّن‬ َ ‫َر َّب َنا أَ ْت ِم ْم لَ َنا ُن‬
ْ ‫ور َنا َو‬
us, and grant us Forgiveness: for
40.
Thou hast power over all things.
waighfir lana innaka 'ala kulli ‫َشيْ ٍء َقدِي ٌر‬
shay-in qadir [8: ‫]التحريم‬
[66:8]
