A PROPOSED RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE OWNERS AND/OR

OPERATORS OF PUBLIC UTILITY BUSES AND MINI-BUSES PLYING
WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE PROVINCE OF CEBU,
TO IMPROVE ALL ASPECTS PERTAINING TO THE CONDITION OF THEIR
UNITS, REGULAR AND/OR AIR-CONDITIONED, FOR THE SAFETY AND
CONVENIENCE OF THE RIDING PUBLIC IN GENERAL

WHEREAS, public utility buses and mini-buses are the major mode of
public conveyance to and from different areas and destinations within the
territorial jurisdiction of the Province of Cebu;

WHEREAS, notably, there exist public utility buses and mini-buses plying
within the Province of Cebu which presently have poor air conditioning system,
loose chairs and air-condition vents, uneasy to use or defective window sliding
glasses, ripped and torn seats, among others, that caused too much inconvenience
to the riding public;

WHEREAS, in order to promote the best interest of the riding public, it is

inevitable that owners and/or operators of public utility buses and mini-buses
need to improve and maintain the general condition of their units in order that
the riding public may enjoy the convenience of travel to and from their
destinations notwithstanding the high cost of bus fare presently implemented;

WHEREAS, in order to make effective the dissemination of this Resolution,

the Operations Manager of the Cebu South Bust Terminal (CSBT) and/or the Focal
Person on Traffic, is respectfully requested to furnish copies of this Resolution to
the owners and/or operators of public utility buses and mini-buses with franchise
within the Province of Cebu for their information and appropriate action, if any;

WHEREAS, it is the mandate of the Province of Cebu, being a local

government unit, to promote the safety, convenience and comfort of the public in
general as enunciated under Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known
as the Local Government Code of 1991;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of __________________, duly seconded by

__________________, for the approval of the Resolution authored by Hon. Raul D.
Bacaltos and co-authored by Hon. Sun J. Shimura, be it:

RESOLVED as it is hereby RESOLVED to request the owners and/or operators

of public utility buses and mini-buses plying within the territorial jurisdiction of
the Province of Cebu, to improve all aspects pertaining to the condition of their
units, regular and/or air-conditioned, for the safety and convenience of the riding
public in general.

RESOLVED FURTHER, to furnish a copy of this Resolution to the Office of

the Operations Manager, Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT), for his information
and appropriate action.
