Using laboratory investigations, students will be introduced to advanced scientific vocabulary and concepts while interacting directly with natural phenomena, data collected by instruments, materials and models. Course Requirements: A positive attitude, composition notebook, and writing utensil EVERYDAY. Course Curriculum: Plato Academy Schools utilize Pearson textbooks and e- learning integration curriculum for grades 6-8, in addition to innovative teaching methods, our students gain a thorough command of reading, mathematics, science, writing, social studies and language arts throughout their years at Plato Academy. Our space- I have put a lot of thought into our classroom and creating a comfortable and safe space for you to exist- be good to it. Absences/Make-up Work (per student handbook): Student must approach teacher to follow-up on missing work. Work will be updated to class website on a daily basis which will make work available to ALL students. Student will have the amount of days missed to make-up missing work, tests/quizzes, and labs. Grading: Grades will be updated through Portal. 100% Coursework (projects, labs, assignments, quizzes and tests) Communication: It is critical that all involved parties (student, parent, and teacher) maintain communication.
