GIS Engineer

 Telecom networks in the fields and also to register the data in the GIS systems (CRAMER, GEOS,
and SCAN). We make a design plan for the network which should be the shortest and cheapest
way of providing service to the customer. While making the design we check the network that
already exists in that location to see if we can make use of any spare ducts or the shortest route
by which the service can be provided to the customer to minimize the cost. We reserve the ducts,
fibers that we propose to use for this project and make the design accordingly. The design will be
sent to KPN for approval that in turn will either approve it or suggest changes in the design, if
necessary.
 The network that is executed in the real world is registered in the corresponding GIS systems like
GEOS, SCAN and NIM/CRAMER (Numerical Integrated Management) and once the data is posted
it is possible for everyone to view the data. Because the data is registered in the systems, next
time when there is a necessity of providing the service to a new customer in the same location,
we first check the network existing in that location and plan for the new job accordingly.
 Roles and Responsibilities:
 Involved in QC and QA
 Interaction with the customer for resolving technical issues
 Participation in management meetings
 Analyzing the quality trend and planning necessary actions

5
