CHAPTER I. INTRODUCTION
1.1. Background Issues
Maintaining health depends on proper eating and drinking and on the ability
of people to maintain clothing, shelter, air, sleep, wake up, mobility, rest, sex,
excretion and body care . If these aspects are met in accordance with the
condition of the body, area, age, and habits, then a person will have good health
until the end of his life (Ibnu, 2013).
In this era there are many cases of mental and physical mental health
problems, the types and shapes are also diverse, there are diseases that arise
that have never appeared before, of course humans with the power and efforts
to treat diseases that afflict themselves, many assets have been sacrificed for
recovery efforts, the number of hospitals and clinics from day to day as the
number increases from a large number, hospitals and clinics are always full, and
diseases are increasingly rampant and continue to multiply, the benefits are
increasingly varied, it can even be said to be in line with the advancement of
medical science and technology, from infectious diseases to diseases
non-infectious / metabolic diseases which from day to day are increasing in
number snya, the average age of people who contracted metabolic diseases for
example, strokes, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease at a young age is
also a lot happening (Hanafi, 2014)
Directly nutritional problems are also associated with infectious diseases. This
is because the food consumed is used to increase immunity and repair damaged
cells due to infection (Ministry of Health 2013). Healthy lifestyle habits are one of
the factors that can affect health conditions. Clean and Healthy Life Behavior
(PHBS) is the application of health behavior by a person or group of people
consciously with the aim of improving health (Ministry of Health 2011).
The habit of washing hands with running water and soap before eating and
after from the bathroom using clean water, doing physical activities, consuming
fruits and vegetables every day and not smoking can minimize the avoidance of
infectious diseases (Ministry of Health 2011). Suhrcke (2011) states that
implementing a healthy lifestyle will reduce the risk of experiencing health
problems such as insomnia, ARI and other health problems.
The application of clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) indirectly prevents the
occurrence of nutritional problems due to infection. One of the healthy
behaviors is physical activity. The application of regular physical activity can
maintain stamina (Ministry of Health 2013). Nationally, the population that has
met the PHBS criteria in 2011 was only 55% and is expected to reach 70% in 2014
(Ministry of Health, 2013).
With this condition it can cause various diseases and can reduce the quality
of human resources. In order to realize healthy physical, mental and social
human resources by having optimal productivity, it is necessary to continuously
maintain and improve health efforts that start from the womb, toddlers, school
age to old age. With this often can improve the quality of health which also
affects the quality of human resources (Kusmayadi, 2011)
Research on attitudes towards PHBS in students of the Citra Husada Mandiri
Kupang Health Sciences School (STIKes CHM-K) (2010) conducted by Susanti Sina
Art, et al reported 88.7% of 346 STIKes CHM-K students showed positive
attitudes about PHBS and 11.3% of students showed negative attitudes about
lifestyle (Seni, 2010)
Students belonging to the category of late adolescents were one group that
was vulnerable to nutritional problems and health. This is because adolescence is
a period of transition to adulthood and as an important period in the life cycle. In
adolescence there is a physical and psychological development of children
becoming adults (Slamet 2010).
Everything depends on intelligence in managing a healthy lifestyle that every
day will certainly face various challenges. This is because the disease that comes
not because of poor or rich factors, but depends on intelligence in maintaining
the body with full responsibility and awareness of the importance of health
(Mohammad, 2015) as in Al-Qur'an surat Al-Baqorah ayat 222 Allah SWT says
that reads:
َ ‫ﯾﺤ ﱡﺐ اﻟ ُﻤَﺘ َﻄ ﱢﻬ ِﺮ‬
‫ﯾﻦ‬ ِ ‫ﯾﺤﺐ اﻟﺘّﻮاﺑﯿﻦ َو‬
ّ َ‫إِ ﱠن اﷲ‬
Meaning: "Indeed, Allah likes those who repent and like those who purify
themselves."
Based on secondary data obtained by UNIDA Gontor Putri Mantingan, Ngawi
is a University in Kab. Ngawi who has a vision of "Becoming a leading university
that integrates science, technology and humanities with Islamic sciences and
keeps abreast of the times in 2030". UNIDA Gontor has seven faculties and
seventeen Study Programs that have been accredited by the Government of the
Republic of Indonesia through the National Accreditation Agency (University
Guide, 2017).
The results of the initial survey at UNIDA Gontor Putri Mantingan showed
that the facilities and facilities provided by the University were classified as
adequate. However, when the researchers took the initial data there was still a
lot of garbage scattered everywhere. Rasulullah saw.:
ِ ‫)ﻓﺈ ﱠن اﷲ ﺗﻌﺎﻟﻲ َﺑَﻨﻲ‬
ِ
Meaning: "Allah builds Islam above cleanliness. And will not enter heaven
except those who maintain cleanliness ”(HR. Thabraani).

CHAPTER 2. LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1. Platform T · · eori
2.1.1 Definition of a Healthy Lifestyle
A healthy lifestyle is a lifestyle by paying attention to certain factors that affect
health, including food and exercise (Proverawati & Rahmawati, 2012). A healthy
lifestyle in school is a set of behaviors that are practiced by students, teachers and
the school community must have awareness as a result of learning, so that they are
able to prevent disease independently, improve their health, and play an active role
in creating a healthy environment (Proverawati & Rahmawati, 2012) .
The health pattern is a response (organism) to stimuli or objects related to
illness and disease, health care systems, food and beverages, and the environment.
From this limitation, this health care behavior occurs from 3 aspects including the
behavioral aspects of disease prevention, and healing of illnesses when sick, and
recovery of health when it has become more painful. Next is the behavior of
improving health, if someone is in a healthy state, and finally is the behavior of
nutrition (food) and drinks (Adliyani, 2015).

2.1.2. Factors that Affect a Healthy Lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle is all activities or activities of a person, both observable and
unobservable, which are related to the maintenance and improvement of health.
(Notoatmodjo, 2010) states that the factors that influence healthy lifestyles are
influenced by, namely:
1.) Food and beverage factors consist of breakfast habits, choice of food
types, amount of food and drinks, food hygiene.
2.) Pattern factors for personal hygiene consist of bathing, cleaning the
mouth and teeth, cleaning hands and feet, cleaning clothes.
3.) Pattern factors for environmental cleanliness consist of room
cleanliness, house cleanliness, home environment cleanliness, school
environment cleanliness.
4.) Pattern factors for illness and disease consist of health care, prevention
of disease, treatment plans and health recovery.
5.) The balance factor between resting and sports activities consists of the
amount of rest, activities at home, and regular exercise.

2.1.3. Healthy Lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad

In accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet, Muslims are taught to always
be grateful for the health favors given by Allah SWT. It can even be said that health
is the greatest favor of Allah SWT that must be accepted by human beings with
gratitude. The form of gratitude for the blessings of Allah Almighty because it has
been given health favors is always to maintain health (Akbar, 2015).
Preventive health science in accordance with the teachings of the prophet
Rasulullah SAW, Health is a gift from Allah Almighty, human creation has been
carried out in a balanced manner, except the Almighty Allah wants other things,
Sometimes the balance of the body is destroyed by humans, for example by the
digestive tract careless or other habits such as smoking, working without rest
(Akbar, 2015) mentioned in the Qur'an Surah Ash-Shuuraa verse 30 which reads:
ُ ‫َو َﻣﺎ أﺻﺎَﺑ ُﻜﻢ ﻣﱢﻦ ﱡﻣﺼﯿﺒ ٍﺔ َﻓِﺒ َﻤﺎ َﻛ َﺴَﺒ ْﺖ أَﯾْﺪ‬
ٍ ‫ِﯾﻜ ْﻢ َوَﯾ ْﻌُﻔﻮا َﻋﻦ َﻛﺜﯿ‬
‫ْﺮ‬
Meaning: "And whatever disaster befalls you, it is the result of the actions of
your own hands, and Allah forgives a lot (of your mistakes). "
(Akbar, 2015) states the Prophet's healthy lifestyle is:
1. Prompts to Maintain Hygiene
Maintain a healthy body, and the Islamic environment commands bathing for his
people to cleanse the body yes from unclean and hadas. He teaches his
people, starts to cut nails, cleanse the area of the finger, pulls the armpit
and bersiwaq feathers to how he eats. Hands, the Prophet Muhammad
said: "Wash your hands before dah after eating and wash your hands after
waking up. No one knows where his hand is in sleep. " Food and drink, the
Messenger of Allah said " close your vessel of water and your drink ". The
house, "Clean your house and yard", as recommended to maintain
cleanliness and safety of the road. Protection of water sources, the Prophet
forbade his people to dispose of waste in careless places, such as wells,
rivers and beaches. The instructions of the Prophet have the meaning that
we must maintain cleanliness and health in order to avoid various digestive
tract infections.
2. The order to eat good and halal food and not to overdo it.
One example of Islamic teachings relating to health is the command to eat good
and lawful food and not overdo it. Examples of verses that explain this are
surah Al-Baqarah verse 168 which means: "O all men, eat the lawful things
better than what is on the earth, and do not follow the steps of shaitan,
because actually the shaitan is the enemy real for you "
3. Regulating Diet and Drinking
In health or nutrition science, food is the most important ingredient for
maintaining health. Among Islamic medical experts, it is said that eating is
halal and thayyiban. The Koran advised that people pay attention to what
they eat, as stated in the verse: "then let the man pay attention to his
food". (Surah 'Abasa 80:24).
4. The balance of activity and rest of
Islam also gives the right of the body, according to its function and endurance,
according to the Prophet's suggestion "that your body has rights". Islam
emphasizes the regularity of regulating the rhythm of life by getting enough
sleep, adequate rest, in addition to its rights to God through worship. Islam
provides guidance for regulating time for physical rest. The regularity of
sleep and guard is regulated proportionally, each member of the body has
rights that must be fulfilled. On the other hand, Islam forbids burdening the
body beyond its limits, such as staying up all night, starving a prolonged
stomach even if it means to worship, as stated in the hadith "TheProphet
once told me: O servant of Allah, do I not preach that you fast on the day of
sham and qiyamul Lail at night, then I say, benarya the Messenger, the
Prophet answered: Do lalukan it, fasting and eat, get up at night and go to
sleep, because, in your body there is a right and on your side there is also a
right" (Bukhari and Muslim).
5. Sports As Efforts to Maintain Health
Source of Islamic teachings does not regulate in detail the problems related to
exercise, because including worldly problems or ijtihadiyat, the forms,
techniques, and regulations are left entirely to humans or experts. Islam
only provides general principles and foundation that must be adhered to in
sports , as stated in one hadith: The Prophet said: " And prepare to face
them whatever power you are able to remember remember that power is
archery, remember that power is archery, remember that power is archery
", (HR Muslim, al-Turmudzi, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Ahmad, and al-Darimi )
6. Adequate rest
What is the prophet's sleeping position, "Sleep with your right side and face the
qibla" Lie on your side next to your ribs " (Bukhari Muslim). Sleeping that
was forbidden by the Prophet was two, namely sleeping in the morning
after morning prayer and sleeping before the evening prayer. "Narrated by
Abu Barzah Ra 'Bahwasannya Rasulullah SAW hated sleeping before prayer,
and chatting afterwards (HR Bukhari Muslim).
7. Washing Hands
Hands are the organs of the body that are the easiest to move diseases. among
diseases that move through the hand are typhoid, dysentery and gastritis.
The Prophet Muhammad often recommended it on various occasions:
(1) Cleaning hands before going to bed. "When you go to sleep, then ablution, as
you ablution want to establish prayer" ( HR. Abu Dawud)
(2) Wash hands after waking from sleep. "If someone among you wakes up from
sleep, you should wash your hands, in fact you don't know where your
hands are (creeping)" (Narrated by Ahmad)
Washing both hands before and after coming out of visiting the sick person.
Suggestions Washing hands with soap (CTPS) using the Community Based
Total Sanitation (STBM) approach is emphasized at 6 critical points: before
processing food, before eating, after defecating (BAB), before taking care of
baby, after cheating on children and after holding animals

2.1. 4. Understanding PHBS

Clean and Healthy Life Behavior (PHBS) is a set of behaviors that are
practiced on the basis of awareness as a result of learning, which makes a
family, group or community able to help themselves (independent) in the
health sector and play an active role in realizing public health (Ministry of
Health, 2011)
In the field of prevention and control of diseases and environmental
sanitation practices of handwashing with soap must be practiced, management
of drinking water and food that meets the requirements, using clean water,
using healthy latrines, managing wastewater that is qualified, combating
mosquito larvae, not smoking in in the room and others (Ministry of Health,
2011)

2.1.5. Goals and Objectives PHBs

purpose PHBs is to increase knowledge, awareness, willingness and
ability of people to live a clean and healthy, and increasing the percent of
active society including the private sector and the business world in efforts to
achieve the degree of well-being optimal (Ministry of Education, 2013)
The aim of PHBs that order households, educational institutions,
workplaces, public places, and health institutes. Household arrangements have
a profound effect on other settings, and vice versa (Ministry of Health, 2011)
In educational institutions (campuses, schools, Islamic boarding schools,
seminaries, hermitage, etc.), primary targets must practice behaviors that can
create PHBS Education Institutions, which include washing hands using soap,
consuming healthy foods and drinks, using healthy latrines, disposing of
garbage in trash bins, not smoking, not consuming drugs, alcohol, psychotropic
substances and other addictive substances (NAPZA), not spitting haphazardly,
eradicating mosquito larvae and others (Ministry of Health, 2011)

2.1.6. Understanding Knowledge

Knowledge is the result of knowing after people do sensing a particular
object. Sensing in humans is the sense of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch
(Notoatmojo, 2010).
As for the factors that influence knowledge according to Notoajmojo
(2010), namely:
1). Education, is a place to develop personality and abilities within and
outside of school and lasts a lifetime.
2). Experience, providing professional knowledge and skills and learning
experience while working. Can develop the ability to take
decisions that are manifestations of the integration of reasoning
naturally and ethically which departs from real problems in the
health field.
3). Age, the older the wiser and the more information found and the
more things that are done so that it adds to his knowledge.
4). The source of information, consisting of official and unofficial
documents, primary, library, electronic, media, and sources of
information obtained from health workers.

2.1.7. Understanding Attitudes

Attitudes are reactions or responses of someone who is still closed to a
stimulus or object (Art, 2010). The attitude of each individual is a complete
attitude because it is formed by the main characteristics and components.
Characteristics consist of always having an object, evaluative, relatively
stable, can be changed. While the main components consist of trust,
emotional life and tendency to act (Notoatmojo, 2010)
According to Notoatmojo (2010) the levels of attitudes are as follows:
1). Receiving, that individuals want and pay attention to the stimulus
given.
2). Respond, that the individual gives an answer if asked, works and
completes the assignment given
3). Respect, that individuals invite other individuals to work or discuss a
problem.
4). Responsible, individual for everything that the individual has chosen
with all risks.

CHAPTER 3. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.1. Research Design
This study includedresearch observational analytic with aapproach, Cross Sectional
namely the type of research that emphasizes the time of measurement or
observation of data at one time at a time carried out on the dependent variable and
the independent variable. This approach is used to see the relationship between
variables one with other variables. To find out the relationship between knowledge
and attitudes of students about the healthy life of the Prophet with the practice of
PHBS at Gontro Putri's UNIDA.

3.2. Location and Time of

Research This research was conducted at UNIDA Gontor Putri as a boarding-based
university located in Mantingan, Ngawi Regency, East Java Province. Time of study in
November 2019.

3.3. Research Subjects

The research subjects in this study were as follows:
a. The population in this study were all Faculty of Health Sciences students, which
included the 314 Pharmacy Study Program and Nutrition Study Program Student

study population numbered 535 people.
b. The sample in this study was the UNIDA Gontor Women's Campus Female
Student which was found in 2 Faculties, namely the Faculty of Health Sciences
and Tarbiyah Faculty as many as 229 people.
According to Notoatmodjo (2005) the sample size can be formulated as follows:
Description:Size
n = Sample
N = Large Population
d = The desired level of trust or accuracy (0.05)
Based on the formula, with a confidence level of 5% and a population of 535, then the
following results can be obtained:
