'Teacher' - a word that takes me back to the start,


The start of my very first day at school.
I tightly clenched my mother's hand.
I was afraid to let her go,
But suddenly somebody held my other hand
and all my fear flew 'cause there was someone to understand.
She wiped my tears and took me to class.
It's when my grooming starts.
I understood that a teacher is the second mother or father I had,
For which I'm still glad.
I am glad that I lived under their guidance.
They taught me all, all they had.
All the manners and values I have are just because of them.
In my growing life, they are the stem.
Like a tree, I have reached heights,
For my strength re-unites.
Teachers are my preachers,
They'll live in my heart forever.
For they have given me strength to endeavor.
They are my most precious treasure.
 Reflection:

The poem is all about the life of a teacher doing teaching in


school. It is also about a student who has fears about the life in
school. It is the teacher who will guide the student in shaping
student’s life. The horizon of my imagination chase so fast, how
crucial is teaching. How influential is teaching. How trustworthy is a
teacher to shape one’s life through teaching.
Because of these insights, it awakens so much my intellect how
heavy is the challenge that’s on my shoulder. In fact, teachers are
more influential than parents. Students spent more time in school
than at home. Their environment are surrounded by teachers,
therefore, whatever is the way of teaching is infused to students it
is also the output.
To build a teacher-student relationship is very important, where
teachers shape the future of the students and students learn from it
for the development of the society as a whole. It should not only for
academic excellence but most importantly is to shape also morals,
values, and behavior in order to raise a good society. But before
children will love school, the school should be a child friendly school
where these children have no fear in learning.
In my observation, the impact of the teacher to students
depends on how he or she teaches the students. It doesn’t involves
a particular academic skills only, most importantly, the fostering of
student self-esteem. Reinforcing self-esteem in the classroom is
associated with increase motivation and learning. In anyways the
students look at the teacher- positively or negatively, the teacher
has an impact to the students. Therefore teaching is sensitive and
teachers must prepare for it.

I’m happy that you are here.
I’m really glad I get to be
your teacher for this year.

We’re going on a journey


- like a crew upon a ship.
We’ll sail the seas of learning,
gaining knowledge on a trip.
I’m hoping for smooth sailing,
though we’re bound to hit bad weather.
We’ll be ok as long as we
All learn to learn together.
Everybody makes mistakes,
(Sometimes I’ll get things wrong).
Our crew is good at different things,
but difference makes us strong.

Climb aboard, let’s sail away.

 Reflection:

Classroom helps students and teachers organize assignments, boost


collaboration, and foster better communication. In most cases, a classroom
is the avenue for learning especially in academic. We are faced with the
everyday challenge of keeping learners engaged with meaningful learning
tasks. Cell phones, computers, tablets, iPads, and more allow students to
access information at their fingertips. The classroom teacher has freedom to
revolutionize the learning space to a student-centered environment in which
students are engaged in their work and conversations with classmates. The
classroom teacher then serves as a facilitator of learning, rather than the
“sage on the stage.” With the flipped classroom model, students are
assigned to a task that the educator has either created or found to introduce
key concepts of a lesson. Therefore in learning it takes two to tango- the
teacher and the students inside the classroom, as the two delivers its
responsibilities to one another it’s just like that they are in a ship journeying
to a certain destination which is the learning outcomes. Along its journey,
though teacher is the facilitator, but both of them would learn from one
another. The teacher may learn and evaluate herself if the kind of instruction
she has is suitable for the learner and therefore the teacher should be
sensitive enough to respond to the needs of the students in order to deliver
learning that would result to positive outcomes. The lesson may end but the
sailing of the students will not end because the learning that is being
transmitted to them will be carried in their lifetime and that’s the best
feeling of being a teacher.
B. Explain: If we believed our task as a teachers is to teach all
pupils/students, and that it is possible that all students, even those
from limited backgrounds, will have access to opportunities and
therefore can achieve, then the bell curve mentality must be
abandoned.

Teachers are here to inspire - to lead - to work to get all of their


students to see how awesome the content is and to take them on a
journey of discovery that gives each student the opportunity to fully
master the material at hand. It is not to discriminate students from
one another, instead all students are given the benefit of the doubt -
the idea is that if the student got into school in the first place, he or
she should be able to master the material that we have to present to
him or her - and the job of the teacher is to facilitate such mastery on
behalf of each and every student. As a teacher, I urge to spend more
time inspiring and working first-hand with your students and less time
worrying about whether the students’ has a high grades. The greatest
teachers are not the ones whose grade are highly reflected, they are
the ones who give each of their students 100% of their time and
attention - and who believe in the success of each student they
encounter.
