Description
Dr. Fixit Solyseal is based on bituminous emulsion, polymer, and additives in water as a medium. It is a highly
viscous dark brown coloured paste used for waterproofing of above ground & below ground concrete structures.
After drying it forms a thick film, which bonds strongly to cementitious surfaces, forms a jointless or seamless
waterproof membrane.

Method of Application

1 S U R FACE P R E PA R AT I O N
}}Surface to be applied must be free from dust, loose material, paint, oil, or any other material which may impair
adhesion
}}Mechanical means for surface preparation are strongly suggested. Finally vacuum cleaning of all loose solids
and liquids must be done, if required
}}All surface cracks up to 5 mm wide should be filled up with Dr. Fixit Crack- X. Cracks more than 5 mm and all
separation gaps should be filled up with Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP modified mortar
}}Triangular fillets prepared with sand -cement mortar, mixed with Pidicrete URP(6kg per 50 kg bag of cement),
must be applied 5 cm in ht & 5 cm in base. This fillet must be provided at all junctions / corners of parapet walls,
roof floor slabs, thresholds around pipe openings and column stubs, around intrusions, water tanks/ AC unit
bases, etc.

mm or PE based spun bound fabric of 40 gsm on wet surface.

Allow this fabric to soak completely in the first coat itself and allow it to dry. Ensure that the fabric is completely
}}

saturated with first coat of Dr. Fixit Solyseal. Coverage of Dr. Fixit Solyseal must be 0.9 ltr / sq m. The fabric
must be extended over the angle fillet in this application.
Now apply the second coat of Dr. Fixit Solyseal at the same rate of 0.9 litre/ m2 in a direction perpendicular to
}}

the first and allow the membrane to dry.

Within first 48 to 72 hours, take up the application of brick bat coba. Before doing so, a geotextile membrane of
}}

250 gsm must be laid over the entire Dr. Fixit Solyseal membrane to prevent it from damage
The brick bat coba mix of cement & sand must be admixed with Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+, an integral waterproofing
}}

compound at 200 ml/ 50 kg cement and allow curing properly with water in accordance with good curing
practices

3.2 Application of Dr. Fixit Solyseal on flat RCC roofs, without brick bat coba
Primer a must – refer to the Clause no 2
}}

After priming, apply 2 coats Dr. Fixit Solyseal at 0.9 litre/ sq.m / coat, and allow drying completely for 6-8 hours.
}}

As detailed above, sandwich a layer of a open-woven glass fibre or polyester mesh of 40 gsm or PE Spun
}}

bonded fabric
Application of Dr. Fixit Solyseal membrane shall be extended over the coving and up to 300 mm height on the
}}

parapet wall
After Dr. Fixit Solyseal is dry, spread a geotextile fabric of 100 gsm over it, if a concrete screed is being laid
}}

Protect the coating with oxidized bituminous aluminum paint, or with a concrete screed in M 20 grade.
}}

Two days after the application of screed, provide control joints along the length and breadth of entire screed
}}

area. The joint can be provided by using a saw cutting machine attached with a 3 mm blade. The joints will be 5
mm wide and 15 mm deep. 28-30 days later, these joints can be filled with a suitable elastomeric sealant

3.3 Application of Dr Fixit Solyseal over sloping roofs

Primer a must – refer to the Clause no 2
