b. Why do we need food?
c. What do you think will happen to the food you have eaten as it gets
into your mouth?
d. Are the foods you have eaten directly get inside the different parts
of your body?
Today, let’s talk about how the food travel inside our body.
B. Discussion:
Will you bring out your magic flakes. Eat it. Swallow it. Where do you
think the food will go? Let us talk about it.
Ask: 1. What happened to the food when it was in your mouth? What are
the kinds of teeth? What change happened to the food in your
mouth?
2. When you swallow the food, where did it pass?
How does the food pass through the esophagus?
Then, from the esophagus where do you think it will go?
3.What will happen to the broken bits of food inside the stomach?
What is chyme? What kind of change happen in the food inside the
stomach?
4.If you were a food, what kind of food are you? Why? What kind of
nutrients do you have? How would you like to be digested?
(Talk about the small intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus.)

Dear French Fries,
Hello, how are you? How’s your summer vacation?
You know I had a very exciting experience last summer
vacation! I was brought into a cave, but only a small and short cave. I saw
many sparkling stalactite and stalagmite inside it. While I was there an
earthquake occurred! The stalactite and stalagmite moved! I was hurt, they
cut me into pieces! I don’t know what to do? I was alone! Then I slid through
a tunnel and dumped into a pool. There falls inside. I took a bath. After a
while, I became like a soupy substance. It seems that the falls have acid.
Then again, I went through a very long tunnel finding my way out. I was
shocked! There were something like fingers inside the tunnel and they got
some of my body parts. After that, I went through a very much wider tunnel
going to a room. There, I stayed for some hours. While resting, I felt that I
was being flushed through a narrow door out to a cleaner swimming pool.
Whew!!! What a relief!. How exciting, isn’t it? By the way since I undergo
transformation, I decided to change my name. From Hamburger, I changed
it into FECES, Fiz for short.

understand the instructions.

Group 1 – Complete the puzzle
Group 2 – Make a jingle about digestive system
Group 3 – Give the path of food in the digestive system using graphic
organizer
Group 4 – Arrange the processes that happen to the food inside the
digestive system
Then post your work on the board and explain it you may raise questions
after reporting

D. Generalization:
What is the complete path of food in the digestive system?

E. Value Integration:
The villi absorb the nutrients and distribute it to the different parts
of the body to make us healthy. What kind of food are you going to eat?
Are the food selling in the canteen nutritious? How about the food selling
outside the school? Are they safe to eat? Why?

IV. Evaluation:
Trace the path of food in the digestive system using arrow. Give the parts.

What part of the digestive system do you think is the most important?
Why?

V. Assignment:
What are the common ailments of digestive system?
