I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the period, the students should have:
a. Identified the structure of imperative sentences;
b. Realized the importance of using imperative sentences;
c. Constructed imperative sentences.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Imperative Sentences
Reference: English 7 Learner’s Material, Module 4, pp.
Materials: Powerpoint presentation, TV, worksheets, chalk and chalkboard
III. PROCEDURE
A. Motivation (Integration – Science and Mathematics)
 Show pictures of famous scientists and mathematicians. Ask the learners to identify them and
tell their contributions.
B. Presentation
 Recall lesson on kinds of sentences according to function.
 In relation to the previous activity, ask the learners to define an imperative sentence.
 Discuss the difference between positive and negative imperatives.
 Discuss the structure of an imperative sentence and the punctuations to be used in ending an
imperatives.
C. Application
Choose the verb that will complete the thought of the sentence. Select your answer from the word pool.

 Copy the essay on page 450 and underline all the verbs you will find.
