The Role of the Youth Towards a Nation Building
Youth on the other hand is composed of people who has age 15 to 35.
Nation is a country under one government. Building means development of the
nation. Involvement of youth with this three pillars is a must. Youth portrays an
important role in nation building.
Nation building is composed of (1) Good education, (2) Learn skills (3)
People should be able to Read, Write, Think and Analyze and (4) Discuss issues. As
the saying goes “Ignorance of the Law Excuses No One” but it turns out that most
ignorant people are found in educated ones. That’s why youth involvement in any
issues in the world is at the top. Youth is said to be able to make a nation or break
a nation.
As leader allow your good qualities shine for others to see.

On Teamwork it is said that “You play for the name on the front, not the name
on the back”. As leadership is defined as an art of influencing other. Peace as a
shared responsibility with everyone.
The lectures also discussed about the insurgency problem that the country
is facing until now. Some insurgent groups mentioned are the following:
New People’s Army
 Abusayaf
 Maute Group
 Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters
 Al – Hadi Murald Ibrahim

As much as these insurgents give threat to the country there are mentioned
group as well such as:
 Western Mindanao Regional Committee (WMRC)
 Auxiliary Threat Group (ATG)
The community problems is their recruitment to minor citizens. Which
focuses on students to bring the force of the youth to their side. It was said that
these insurgents use the name of legality to make their moves. Doing so will make
them free to do their planned acts against the government. Targeting students
will help them widen their network. Using these students to build a stronger
foundation for their Organization. One legal move they did and still doing is
building a Partylist that government cannot touch, since they went to legal
process. Having such legal papers, will keep the government’s noses out of their
business. They send their students to universities, to acquire knowledge they can
use for their games of minds. One of their strategies is having the inside man,
that’ll be their eyes and ears inside the outside world. They have their own
political line that serves as their promoter in legalizing their advocacies. And those
students they send to school helps with the rallies in support for the proposed
advocacy.
