Research Methodology

Research Design

A descriptive – phenomenological approach is being used in analyzing,

understanding, and exploring the different views and perceptions of Liquid Cargo
Handling that influenced their decisions on whether they are satisfied of using

this facility and the teaching strategy.

The study is qualitative in nature because the method that is being used to

gather the data is interview which includes open-ended questions that identifies

the perspectives of the participants and data will then be recorded and analyzed

by the researchers.

Research Respondents

The participants of the study only consist of 2nd year BSMT students of a

Maritime University located somewhere in Mandaue city other year level is

excluded because the study only focuses on the 2nd year BSMT students.

The students are the pioneer batch of the K-12 curriculum which means that

they are the first to graduate and identify whether the system truly prepares and

provides the students in the Maritime University the sufficient knowledge and

skills that will be needed to proceed near future.

The study used homogenous sampling which is a purposive sampling

technique that aims to get sample or participants who share a common

characteristic, that being in this study, students of the maritime university.

Research Environment
