My opposite team member pointed that container movement in day time causes traffic
congestion
I am strongly condemn that
1. The main reason for traffic congestion in sri lanka According to the
tourism essays of UK says that in sri lanka
i. Current traffic signal network
ii. The current road system
iii. Mixed traffic system
iv. Illegal parking
v. Side walks for pedestrian are the main reason for the traffic
jam
So as far as I concerned the container movement is not only
reason for the traffic jam
2. HOV lane – In sri lanka some of there is a sperate way system for high
occupancy vehicles, and separate fine system for Those who follow the
rules of hov lane.(pic)
4. Affect on economy- If the container banned in day time, the exports and
the needs will be delay to receive and it will affect the economy
( the graph)
6. Sometimes the opposing party might site that most of the fatal accidents
are due to the containers. But, as poor common sense we could understand
that the primary reason for a road accident is the violation of road rules.
Not the vehicle… If we suffer accidents due to motorbikes then is it
reasonable to ban the motorbikes during day time???? Exactly… No….
THEREFORE,
If there are accidents due to containers, it is not the container to blame…
It is the person who drives it.
7. According to Sri Lanka Traffic rules, Heavy vehicles driver should be
renew their licence in every couple years . Therefore, the physicality of
drivers are being constantly checked and declared whether they are
eligible to drive.
