What is Climate Change?

"CLIMATE CHANGE IS CALLING THE TOURISM WORLD TO A REVOLUTION."

Conclusion of Tourism Ministers Summit

London - 13 November 2007

Have you truly asked yourself what is the effects of climate change?

Climate change has a big impact for us people now a days. Examples are the:

Reduced Water Availability, because it could lead to disputes with local industry and

communities. So that the people all over the world may affect their personal needs.

Extreme Weather Events, it will increase operational uncertainty, in some point it may

cause a cancellation of and important event or meeting because of the unexpected

weather particularly in poorer countries. Expensive or Unavailable Insurance, in some

areas exposed to extreme weather or sea-level rise. It may cause an eruption to those

who are living in the mountains and to those who live in such a various area where on the

sea line. And last is the Efforts to cut emissions may add costs, it is by the industry,

particularly from transport emission, those transportation that causes a bad air because
of their private vehicle. It is sad to say that there are many vehicle all over the world but

we don't know the biggest impact for our natural resources. There are small choices that

we can change about ourselves, for instance diving hybrid cars that reduce gasoline

consumption. If a person needs to drive to work and pump their car many times a day,

why do this when you can take public transport instead. Those four impacts of climate

change will be decrease if we will have and organization within this problem of us.

Because climate change is one of the most destroyable thing in this earth because of are

doings of us people.

As a Tourism Student, I would like to organize the friendly reminders for all.

 Use an alternative transportation to lessen the air pollution.

 Tree planting

 Monitor the energy consumed

 Moderate consumption

 Sustainable and responsible

 Gained knowledge and friendship

Unfortunately it is highly likely that the problems of global warming will persist

unless immediate action is to be taken. Problems will exist unless active hands is

developed or people are given sufficient incentives to changes their actions for the better.
Climate change is the consequence of global warming. Since our renowned

Industrial Revolution, depended upon a production and consumption system that has

emitted greenhouse gases to the atmosphere in greater quantities than naturally exist.

The increase in the presence of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, however,

causes the temperature of the planet to rise, leading to what is known as global warming.

This global warming is the cause of climate change, and has multiple consequences with

global impact, mainly by changing the weather patterns, melting the poles, raising sea

levels, provoking extreme meteorological phenomena, desertification, fires, storms and

floods.

Use an alternative transportation is one of the most efficient ways to save energy

and money. If you and your colleague work in them same office and live in same area, it

is recommended to do a car pool instead of driving separately for work. Who doesn’t like

free power? Renewable energy is free and sustainable. Install solar panels to generate

your own power and supply excess power back to the grid and get return on your

investment. If you can’t bear one time installation cost, then ask your utility to switch your

account to clean, renewable power. And last, just as we can cut down on energy usage,

we can also reduce water usage in our daily lives. Basic habits like turning off the tap

when you are soaping up and filling up the sink to wash dishes all make a difference.

Using a cute watering can to water the plants in the evening also helps as the water isn’t

evaporated up by the sun. One word of warning, however – avoid turning the water on

and off too many times if you use an external water heater. Every time the heater charges

up energy is wasted.
