Other rules and information


>Students will be given 5 minutes of reading time. Then,
the exam will run for 50 minutes. It will contain 15
questions. It will be a closed-book assessment.

> This exam will contain a mix of multiple-choice


questions, questions that require students to fill in the
blanks or write short answers or sketch diagrams (cost
curves or demand and supply curves).

> Students are only allowed to use their pens.


Calculators are not required – there will be no
calculations involved.

> Students who need a bilingual dictionary must inform


the lecturer about this requirement to obtain his/her
consent at least 10 minutes before the start of the exam.

> The exam will test students on the topics of Weeks 1


to 4. These cover the introductory concepts and ideas;
demand; production costs and supply; the interaction of
demand and supply; and market failure.

> Student will not only be tested on the theory, but more
importantly, beyond that– on their ability to apply these
theories to real-life situations.

> The mid-term exam mimics the conditions of the final


exam and therefore prepare students for it.
