Health Effects
Acute Swallowed : Corrosive and poisonous. Causes burn to mouth ,
throat, and gastro-intestinal tract.
Eye : Corrosive
Skin : Corrosive
Swallowed : Contact the doctor or poison information center. Urgent action is essentials. Do
not induce vomiting. Give a glass of water. Repeat if vomiting occurs. If the patient is not fully
conscious do not give anything by mout
Eye : If contacted in the eyes or on the face, remove contact lenses if worn. Hold eyes open
and flood with water for at least 15 minutes. Get urgent medical attention. Skin : Remove
contaminated clothing and wash the skin thoroughly with water. Inhaled : Remove from
contaminated area.
Advice to Doctor : TLV – Peak Limitation for hydrofluoric acid (as F) is 3 ppm
TLV – TWA for sulfuric acid is 1 mg/m3.
