PLANS FOR LUCKNOW AIRPORT

EXISTING SCENARIO

1. The total Airport Land available is 1261.6 Acres. Additional Land acquisition of 124 Acres
for ultimate extension of Runway.
2. The Runway Length 2742 M. is sufficient to operate for CODE-D operations with an
existing Rapid Exit near Runway 09 & with Two taxi links for Domestic Apron, Two taxi
links for International Apron & One taxi link for Isolation Bay of 90 M.x 90 M. near R/w 09.
3. The existing flight operation can be increased from 24 flights per hr.to 30 flights per hr. as
the Domestic Passenger Growth is about 25% & International Passenger Growth is about
17%.
4. The International Operation is from Terminal T-1 with an area of 9500 sq.m. & Domestic
Operation is from Terminal T-2 with an area of 16292 sq.m.
5. Integrated Terminal T-3 is proposed.
6. Cargo Operation is from Temporary Interim Terminal.
7. Capacity of Apron-1 is 14 Aircrafts (Max. B747-400).
8. Capacity of Apron-2 is 05 Aircrafts (Code Super King AB300)
9. Domestic Peak hr. Capacity is 1250 Pax. while International Peak hr. Capacity is 475 Pax.
10. Existing Fire- Station is available & CAT -IX is proposed.
11. Ca- Parking in Domestic is 312 Cars with 10 Bus Parking while Car-Parking in International
is 100 Cars.
12. The essential services like Water Supply, Sewage Disposal System, Solid waste
Management System, Power Supply System are available with Rain water disposal system
with Rain water Harvesting etc. Solar Plant is planned.
13. There is an existing Meteorological Department Building and existing CISF Dog kennel,
Proposed Underground Metro - Station & Future Multi-Level Car Park.

Methodology for First 5 Year Plan:-


(SHORT TERM PLAN) PHASE-1

1. The Runway Length 2742 M. can be extended by 258 M. to make it 3000 M. sufficient to
operate for CODE-4E,.The parallel Taxi Track of 1775 M.x23 M. & One Rapid Taxi Link is
proposed in Phase-1 to increase the efficiency of the Runway.
2. Since the Airport has a Single Runway & there is a large anticipated growth of traffic. One
Rapid Taxi Exit way is proposed as a solution to decrease the Runway occupancy &
increase the number of flights per hour( In future,the construction of new taxiway will
require closure of the runway which will hamper operations so it is proposed to go in for
one additional Rapid Exit at this initial stage)
3. Parking bays for 6 Aircrafts are proposed to enhance the Apron capacity from 23 nos. to
29 nos. in Phase- 1.
4. Proposed Multi- Level Car Park with road widening in front of Integrated Terminal Building
in coordination with Proposed Underground Metro station.
5. The existing flight operation can be increased as the Domestic Passenger Growth is about
25% & International Passenger Growth is about 17%.
6. Ample Site area is available on the South West side of the Airport initially for Courier
Terminal Complex & State Govt.Terminal & General Aviation, Commercial Development,
like Airport Hotel (in Phase -1) & rest of the available land for the Long Term Development
Plan of the Airport.
7. Solar Panels on South West side of the Airport be installed.
8. Commercial development is proposed on City-Side in Phase -1 as 44.5 Acres.
9. Fire-Station & E & M Workshop is proposed on Air-Side on a plot of 205M.x80M.
10. All essential Services like STP, water supply, ESS, garbage disposal should be upgraded.
11. Boundary wall with barbed wire fencing is proposed to be installed wherever needed.

Methodology for 10 Year Plan:-


(MID TERM PLAN) PHASE-2

1. The process of development of Air-Side land of 22 Acres (in Phase-2) can be proposed in
Phase-1,like Runway Expansion by 325 M. to make it 3325 M. & Parallel taxi track with two
Taxi Links towards Runway-27.
2. The Runway-27 length of 3325 M. can further be expanded after acquisition of 124 Acres of
land.
3. After Phase-1 development of Apron its capacity can further be enhanced from The
existing Apron of 29 Bays to 34 Bays.
4. Cargo Terminal & Apron & Truck Parking area should be earmarked on the existing
Isolation Bay side. A land area of 13.5 Acres be acquired for relocating the Isolation Bay
towards Runway-27.
5. The existing Substation, CCR Hall & Plant Room are relocated on the western end side of
the Proposed Integrated Terminal & upgraded & similar services are proposed on the
eastern end side of temporary Interim Cargo Terminal
6. Proposed Commercial Development on City-Side in Phase-2 is 87.4 Acres.

Methodology for 50 Years


( LONG TERM PLAN)

1. Low Cost Terminal with Apron in front having linear formation of bays is earmarked on the
opposite side of the Runway.
2. Additional land can be acquired for further development of the Airport in the Long Term
Plan.
It is requested to please check the above deliberations for LUCKNOW AIRPORT,at the earliest
with respect to present Site conditions.
