When the system maintenance switch position 6 is set to the On position, the system is prepared to erase allsystem configuration settings
from both CMOS and NVRAM.
CAUTION: Clearing CMOS and/or NVRAM deletes configuration information. Be sure toproperly configure the server or data loss
could occur.

(green) LED(amber/blue) Interpretation
On, off, or flashing Alternating amberand The drive has failed, or a predictive failure alert has beenreceived for this drive; it also has
blue been selected by amanagement application.
On, off, or flashing Steadily blue The drive is operating normally, and it has been selected by amanagement application.
On Amber, A predictive failure alert has been received for this drive.Replace the drive as soon as
flashingregularly (1 Hz) possible.
On Off The drive is online, but it is not active currently.
Flashing regularly(1 Hz) Amber, Do not remove the drive. Removing a drive may terminate thecurrent operation and
flashingregularly (1 Hz) cause data loss.
The drive is part of an array that is undergoing capacityexpansion or stripe migration, but a
predictive failure alert hasbeen received for this drive. To minimize the risk of data loss,
donot replace the drive until the expansion or migration iscomplete.

(green) LED(amber/blue) Interpretation
Flashing regularly(1 Hz) Off Do not remove the drive. Removing a drive may terminate thecurrent operation and
cause data loss.
The drive is rebuilding, erasing, or it is part of an array that isundergoing capacity expansion
or stripe migration.
Flashing irregularly Amber, The drive is active, but a predictive failure alert has beenreceived for this drive. Replace the
flashingregularly (1 Hz) drive as soon as possible.
Flashing irregularly Off The drive is active, and it is operating normally.
Off Steadily amber A critical fault condition has been identified for this drive, andthe controller has placed it
offline. Replace the drive as soon aspossible.
Off Amber, A predictive failure alert has been received for this drive.Replace the drive as soon as
flashingregularly (1 Hz) possible.
Off Off The drive is offline, a spare, or not configured as part of anarray.

Interpretation

The system is powered down, and the cache contains data that has notyet been written to the drives. Restore
system power as soon aspossible to prevent data loss.

Off Data preservation time is extended any time that 3.3 V auxiliarypower is available, as indicated by LED 2. In the
Hz
absence of auxiliarypower, battery power alone preserves the data. A fully-chargedbattery can normally preserve
data for at least 2 days. The battery lifetime also depends on the cache module size.

The battery pack is below the minimum charge level and is beingcharged. Features that require a battery (such as

Hz) charging is complete. The recharge process takesbetween 15 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the initial
capacity ofthe battery.
Off On The battery pack is fully charged, and posted write data is stored in thecache.
Off Off The battery pack is fully charged, and no posted write data exists inthe cache
Flashing Flashing (1 An alternating green and amber flashing pattern indicates that thecache microcontroller is executing from within its
(1 Hz) Hz) boot loader andreceiving new flash code from the host controller.

battery pack is replaced. The life expectancy of a battery pack is typically more than 3 years.
