By obtaining a degree in Counseling, I would love to use my education to work alongside individuals and families
enduring trauma. In other words, I hope to work with people who have been through a traumatic event such as
sexual assault, death in the family, domestic abuse, or emotional distress. I am confident in my ability to make a
difference by assisting people in finding clarity in the events they are going through.

FAMILY SERVICES INTERN, SOTTISH RITE HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN


During my time as an Intern, my responsibilities included scheduling and executing activities for patients such as
crafts, weekly visits with emotional support animals, and special events all to provide patients and their families with a
positive experience throughout their stay at the hospital. Furthermore, as an Intern, I learned how to engage with
children and their families from all different backgrounds by providing support in any way that I could.

HEAD COUNSELOR, CAMP LONGHORN


As a Head Counselor, my responsibilities included supervising younger counselors and campers. Additionally, I
coordinated the logistics of scheduling and planning activities. During my time as a Counselor, I further developed my
skills in communication, critical thinking, and building interpersonal relationships.

CLASS OF 2016 VICE PRESIDENT, NATIONAL CHARITY LEAGUE


During my time as Vice President, I was in charge of finding guest speakers to come and talk to our organization,
orchestrating and participating in various philanthropy events, as well as keeping track of community service hours for
my class. While being a part of this organization, I learned essential skills in team-building, conflict resolution, and
community engagement.

VOLUNTEER, YOUNGLIVES
Younglives Is an organization that works with teen moms and their children to ensure they have the support they need
to live a healthy lifestyle. Through this organization, I was able to better understand different cultures. Additionally, I
learned that strong interpersonal relationships may be built with mothers and their children though time, trust, and
consistency.

VOLUNTEER, MENTORS PROGRAM AT E.P. RAYZOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL


As a volunteer in the Mentor’s program, I was able to be a part of a movement to address the alarming literacy crisis in
America. My main objective with this organization was to work one-on-one with elementary school children in order to
help adolescents become actively engaged with reading.

VOLUNTEER, SPECIAL OLYMP ICS


During my time with Special Olympics, I worked with a diverse special needs population, helping them to excel and
compete in sporting competitions. Through this opportunity, I learned that setting realistic goals and lending support
can help people succeed.
