his change if he gave 50 pesos?

e. What is the answer?
 The change Sam has after buying a
notebook and a pencil.
 The given are the notebook which cost
13 pesos and a pencil which cost 10
pesos.
 The operation to be used are addition
and subtraction
 50-(13+10)=n
 Sam has 27 pesos change after he
bought a notebook and a pencil.

the product of a problem. To show this:

a. We repetitively group and add the

same number again and again to find
the answer.
b. As multiplication is repeated addition,
each repeated addition can be written
in two ways:
 The repeated addition
(6+6+6=18)
 Multiplication sentence
(3x6=18)

In our problem, Christine bought 8 pieces of

chocolates and another 8 pieces of chocolates
for Justine. To illustrate this in repeated
addition, we will add 8 pieces of chocolate
twice.

Christine = 8 pieces
Justine = 8 pieces
Repeated Addition:
8 + 8 = 16
Multiplication sentence:
2x8=16
