CASE STUDY INTERPRETATION-

 1. WHY A PARTICULAR DESIGN HAS APPEALED TO YOU OR EVOKED CERTAIN EMOTION?

IIM INDORE

 Away from the noise and pollution of the city, the institute is a haven of fresh air, unwinding
roads and calm surroundings leave us with a great feeling.

 The campus was beautifully maintained from every aspect right from washrooms, to classes
to libraries etc.

 What I observed in IIM Indore which I don’t I find in any other colleges is the hustling and
bustling environment like we could not make out whether it’s a Sunday or a normal working
day.

 IIM Indore was a huge institution on a hilltop providing views of Indore city, also it was more
greener than the Indore city.

 The best element is that the entire campus is barrier free and easily accessible at all levels.

 Same as IIM indore IIFM is located in a peaceful location away from the chaos of the city.

 Sustainable design, with keeping natural aspects in mind.

 Use of natural sustainable materials.

3. SPACES IN THE CAMPUS WHICH HELP YOU IN RELEASING YOUR

EMOTIONS.
 IIM INDORE
 The entire campus is heaven for the fresh air, due to its location in the outskirts of the city, which
keeps it quite and soothing.
 Entire campus have many open spaces and internal courtyards with green spaces which helps
people in relieving stress along with its vast biodiversity.
 Temples are also located inside the campus which adds to the spirituality.
 The large grass land in front of the admin building, with the vast blue sky over your head and light
fragrance of flowers in the landscaping add a lot.

 From personal view, I didn’t find much stress reliving spaces in IIFM , as the space was peaceful
because of the less population rather than the design itself.
 The water strip and a few open areas were giving a feeling of calmness.
4. COLORS WITH LIGHT: ARTIFICIAL LIGHT AND NATURAL LIGHT-
IIM INDORE
 Use of earthy colour palate and neutral colour tones to develop a connection with the nature, which
gives feeling of comfort in cold as well as hot weather.
 There are some spaces which develops a beautiful relationship with the texture when natural light.
