Talk to the students, give some seminars, counselling and also

guidance.

V. Evaluate results:

It is obvious that having a poor reading comprehension, it affects the

students’ ability to succeed in school. All subjects, including science and math, require
reading comprehension. Even Tests and exams require good reading comprehension
which results in low grades and poor test scores if a student has poor reading
comprehension. The aim of this study was to determine why some students have a poor
reading comprehension. If parents have good educational background, they would be
able to guide their children and help them in their academic difficulties particularly in
reading. The attitude of students towards reading is also an influencing factor that affects
their reading comprehension performance. Therefore, comprehension takes place if
the willingness and the desire of the students, to understand the text are present.
Teachers’ competency in teaching reading is also a contributing factor. Teachers’
knowledge in teaching reading plays an important factor in student’s learning. Competent
teachers would result an efficient learners. Therefore students must be able to practice
comprehension to be able to pass the basic requirement of the industry.
