Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for recruitment of Stipendiary Trainees in the
following category:-

1) Essential Qualification:

A) For Stipendiary Trainee HSC (10+2)(Science):


i) HSC (10+2) or ISC (with science subjects) with not less than 50% Marks in Science
and Mathematics individually.

ii) Should have had English as one of the subjects at least at SSC level Examination.

B) For Stipendiary Trainee (SSC + ITI) :

i) SSC ( 10 years) with not less than 50% marks in Science and Mathematics subjects individually
and 2 years ITI certificate from the Government recognized Institution in Fitter/Millwright Fitter, Machinist,
Welder, Electrician, Electronics and Instrumentation trades (for trades for which the duration of the ITI
course is less than 2 years, the candidates should have at least one year working experience after completion of
the ITI course).

ii) Should have had English as one of the subjects at SSC level Examination.

2) Age Limit :

18 to 24 years as on 01/11/2010. (Those who are born between 01.11.1986 -31.10.1992)

Upper age limit is relaxable for the following categories:

(a) SC/ST: up to 05 years (i.e. those who are born between 01.11.1981-31.10.1992)
(b) OBC : up to 03 years (i.e. those who are born between 01.11.1983 - 31.10.1992)

3) Physical Standards:

Minimum Height : 160 cm (5’3”)


Minimum Weight : 45.5 Kgs. (100 lbs)

4) Duration of training : Two years.

The trainees will have to undergo training at one or more Nuclear Power Plants located at
Tarapur (Maharashtra), Kota(Rajasthan), Narora (U.P), Kalpakkam (Tamil Nadu), Kaiga (Karnataka),
Kakrapar (Gujarat) and KKNPP (Kudankulam).

5) Stipend Payable:

i) 1 st year of Training – Rs. 6200/- p.m. (Consolidated)


ii) 2 nd year of Training – Rs. 7200/- p.m. ( Consolidated)

6) Absorption after training:

On successful completion of training, the Stipendiary Trainees/Technician may be absorbed as Technician/B


in the scale of pay of Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2000/- (plus other allowances as admissible from time to
time)

7) Bond : The selected candidates will be required to execute bond for serving in NPCIL for a period
of five (5) years after training.

8) How to apply :

1. The application should be submitted exactly in the proforma as given in the advertisement preferably typed
on A4 size (21 cm x 29.5 cm) paper .

2. The application and the outer cover should be super scribed with “APPLICATION FOR STIPENDIARY
TRAINEE-TECHNICIAN.

3. Application should be accompanied with attested copies of certificates of educational qualification with
mark sheet, date of birth and SC/ST/OBC certificates wherever applicable.

4. Completed application should be sent to Post Box No.8701, Andheri(E), Mumbai-400 069, so as to reach on
or before 20.11.2010. Applicants are advised to send their applications only by ordinary post and not by any
other means such as Registered, Speed Post, Private Courier service etc.

NOTE : (1) The SC/ST candidates called for written test/ interview from outstation will be paid to
and fro II class railway fare.

(2) Persons working under Central / State Govt. / Public sector Undertakings should submit their
applications through proper channel. They may however, send one advance copy of the application along with
enclosures as detailed above.

(3) Those candidates who possess higher qualification or the qualification other than prescribed
qualifications need not apply as such applicants will not be considered.

(4) Application must be completed in all respects otherwise the same will be rejected.

(5) Those candidates who have already received their marksheets/certificates are eligible to apply.

(6) The exact percentage of marks should be written by the candidates and not by rounding off. In case
the percentage comes in decimals then the same may be written up to two decimals.

(7) Mere fulfillment of requirements by itself as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a
candidate for written test/interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the
advertisement is large and where it is not practicable to conduct written test/interview for all the
candidates, the management may restrict the number of candidates for the written test/interview, to
a reasonable limit on the basis of percentage of marks and higher experience. No correspondence
will be entertained in this regard.

(8) Based on the percentage of marks, NPCIL will hold a written examination for the shortlisted
candidates in Mumbai. The written examination will consist of 100 objective type multiple choice
questions for a duration of 90 minutes. The answer to the questions will have to be marked by the
candidates in the computerized OMR answer sheet with black ball point pen. The details will be
made available to the shortlisted candidates called for written test, alongwith admit card.

(9) Only those candidates who qualify in the written test will be considered for Interview.

(10) Only Indian nationals need apply.

(11) The Application Form may also be downloaded from NPCIL’s website : npcil.nic.in.

(12) CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE A DISQUALIFICATION

1. Fill all the details in the application form in capital letters only.

2. For trade category code, write following 4 letters abbreviation for particular trade in the
space provided.
