Durafloor ProFlex

Joint-Less SLAB
Built Strong! Lasts Long!

Durafloor Concrete Solutions LLP

Agenda
• Industrial Flooring and Requirements
• Joint Dilemma
• Joinltess Slab Design
• Work Methodology
• Project Porfolio
3

Industrial Floor Requirement

• Sound operating platform
• Compatible with latest technology
• Flatness that permits flexibility of use
• “Friendly” to MHE equipment
• Minimal number of joints
• Lifetime value
• Floor slab constructed to respected standards
• Designed to suit specific (or institutional) needs
4

Saw Cut Floor

• Too many joints
• Joint failure/reduced load transfer capacity
• Surface breakdown
• Slab Curling /REDUCED load bearing capacity
• Inefficient operation /random cracking
• Loss of work areas for remedial works
• Contaminated stock
………………….we call it the JOINT DILEMMA!
5

• Prone to cracking due to large

areas of no stress relief joints
• Prone to curling due to
differential shrinkage
• Joint free distances of up to 50m,
not more
• Huge joint openings due to
shrinkage
• Not suitable for outside
applications
6

Jointless vs Saw Cut Floors

Saw Cut Layout

Joinless Floor Layout

8

Jointless Floor Advantage

• Reduced amount of joints:
▫ Joint spacing up to 50m
▫ Smaller maintenance fees
▫ Less injuries for workers
▫ Less losses of merchandise
▫ More hygienic
9

DURAFLOOR Jointless Slab Approach

• Design Approach
▫ Shrinkage control Admixtures
▫ Higher dosage of Duraflex Steel Fiber
▫ Armour Joint positions and effective selection
▫ Panel sizes, aspect ratio
Shrinkage Compensating
• minimize or eliminate the effects of concrete drying
shrinkage
• designed to create controlled expansion within the
matrix of the concrete
• the designed expansion puts the concrete in
compression and the reinforcement in tension early
• Early tensile strengths and compressive strengths
help prevent drying shrinkage cracking for the life of
the placement.
11

Mix without fibers

With fibers
Basic mix

The restrained expansion générâtes a permanent Compressive Stress

Thus creating

- A powerful Anti-Cracking effect

- A less deformable and more stable slab
12

SFRC Design Approach :TR34

• Historically Japanese beam test JCI-SF4
• RILEM beam test now incorporated in EN 14651
• FR value now used (‘residual flexural tensile strength’)
• Specimens 150 x 150 supported over 500mm
• Notched at mid-span, 25mm deep
• Performance related to applied load and ‘crack mouth
opening displacement’ (CMOD)
13

Design Parameter :Soil Sub-base – CBR or K Value

Additionally, multilayer sub-base can be converted to an equivalent k value depending

on the site condition, nature of local soils etc. Our nationwide sub-base database comes
in handy for efficient design

Benefits of JOINTLESS FLOOR

▫ Reduced maintenance
▫ Less repairs for MHE
▫ Less joints to maintain
▫ Increased speed of MHE
▫ Increased turnaround of the facility
▫ Increased health&safety protection
▫ Less probability of spillage of materials
▫ Increased resistance to loads and heavy
equipment
