A. Description
The Senior Kids Camp is the formal entry point of children (ages 9 to 12) of Couples
for Christ (CFC) members to the CFC Kids for Christ (KFC). This is a two day live-in camp
usually conducted during summer. It is an experience where the kids can have fun, and at
the same time hear and see the Word of God being proclaimed by the CFC Youth for
Christ (YFC) servants in ways that they can appreciate.
It is in this camp where the “Senior Kids” experience God proclaimed by their YFC
brothers and sisters who were just like them a few years ago, and who they can now look
up to as models.
In this Camp, they can make friends as they play games, share experiences, and
entertain one another in a wholesome Christian environment. Here, they can discover and
be encouraged to develop their gifts and potential for leadership as they are exposed to
their peers and to the youth who are actively serving them as speakers, facilitators,
games coordinators, and others.
B. Goals
1. To introduce Jesus to the kids, making them realize that God has a special place for
them in His heart, and that He loves them very much even if they are still very young.
2. To enable the kids to respond to God’s love through a healthy and fun environment of
prayers, songs, activities and fellowship among peers and friends.
3. To give them a sense of identity as members of CFC Kids for Christ where they can
share and expect Christian love, unity, and support from one another.
4. To expose them to their older brothers and sisters in YFC, joyfully using their talents to
serve them, inspiring them to look forward to joining CFC Youth for Christ when they
grow older.
Participation in the camp is exclusive to all children of CFC members and couples
undergoing the Christian Life Program (CLP) ages 9 to 12. A camp can contain a
maximum of 50 participants, excluding the service team. Since YFC members will serve
in the camp, a ratio of 1 YFC servant to 7 KFC participants is observed.
The parents are vital in sustaining the spiritual growth of their kids during and after the
camp. Therefore they are required to attend an orientation meeting scheduled prior to the
camp. Here, they will be oriented by the KFC coordinator about the activities and let them
fill up the information sheets and waiver forms needed. (See Annex).
Maximum of 10 YFC representatives from whom the following key positions shall be
delegated:
• 1 facilitator for every 4-7 kids (boys to boys, girls to girls)

• music ministry
• team leader/s (max. of 2 - 1 boy & 1 girl)
• 4 speakers
• 4 sharers
• camp servants
Two CFC Couple Coordinators will oversee the whole camp: 1 Service Team Head
and 1 Assistant Service Team Head. Other couple coordinators must be assigned to the
registration team.
Please note that the team composition, as suggested, may not be ideal or adequate to
be able to accomplish and achieve targeted goals of the camp, considering the needs for
kids’ safety, security and supervision. Additional volunteer parents and/or YFC
representatives therefore, are expected to gladly assist in the administrative functions, but
are willing to be on live-out status for purposes of cost savings.
The camp site must have a wide and clean environment where children can play and
walk around safely; where bonfire can be done. It must have separate bedrooms for boys
and girls; can accommodate at least 64 persons; with adequate supply of water and
electricity; means of communication provided; clean bathroom, toilet, canteen/mess room,
recreational facilities.

Important Notes:
• The schedules written in this manual are guides for the Senior Kids Camp Service
Team. If circumstances call for a different schedule, the team should be flexible
enough to follow where the Holy Spirit leads.
• For the Play Break on Day 1, be sure to provide alternative activities for children who
will not be able to participate on the major activity. For example, for children who were
not allowed by parents to swim, they can have a cooking activity or art activity, etc.
• You may also ask the children to write something about the Senior Kids Camp.
Example, “What is the most memorable thing that happened to me during the Kids
Camp?” This may be done before the Mass.
• The time for dedication to KFC and the distribution of ID/KFC Promise (Commitment
Card) may be done within the mass. Note that it is only in the Senior Kids Camp that
the child will be given a commitment card, as this is not given out to the participants of
the Junior Kids Day for kids ages 4 to 8 years old. (See separate manual for Junior
Kids Day.)
1. The team leader strives to be a person of vision. He sees that the Kids Camp is not
an end in itself but rather the beginning of a process of growth.

2. The team leader is flexible. He is open to changes/modifications of any activity/game
if the children are not receptive towards it.
3. The team leader is alert. He watches the children for clues. (Children get discouraged
when the learning game seems too difficult. Children get restless and fidgety if the
games are too easy.)
4. The team leader strives for clarity.
a. He allows others to see what he sees. He makes sure that his female partner,
couple coordinator, and team have the same understanding as he does about
circumstances in the camp.
b. He finds ways to make the participants relate to the talks and sharings. These
are done through jokes, anecdotes, examples in current movie/t.v./music trends
and illustrates these in terms familiar to the participants.
5. The team leader strives to have a heart for God and His people.
a. He listens to the Lord: prepares spiritually before the camp; continues to
consult and intercede to the Lord throughout the camp.
b. He has a feel for the people: mingles and relates with the team; mingles and
relates with the participants.
c. He loves the people he serves.
1. Each Kids Camp has two team leaders; one for the boys and one for the girls.
a. The male team leader leads the sessions: leads prayers, worship; introduces
speakers and sharers; wraps up, summarizes, emphasizes points for clarity; sits
infront, listening to each talk.
b. The female team leader is there to respond to the needs of the girls and
provide input in planning and conducting the camp.
c. Both team leaders work in consultation with each other to unify and provide
focus for the team.
d. They should both be prepared to give any of the four talks.
e. They make sure that the Camp Schedule is followed.
2. Gives input in camp decisions to the Couple Coordinator.
3. Leads the team.
a. Facilitates team meetings: listens to input from the team; gives instructions to
and receives instructions from the Couple Coordinator; leads worship.
b. Makes sure that the team knows what to do and actually does it. Runs through
regular activities with the team beforehand so they know what’s happening;
regularly supports and instructs camp servants.
c. Corrects the team (individually or as a whole group). Note: The Couple
Coordinator should course his/her corrections through the team leader.
d. Encourages the team: exhorts; takes every opportunity to commend them.
e. Gives advice.
4. Makes sure that the 4 F’s are used properly.
1. Be humble. Try to answer all the questions of the children. Don’t be afraid to
admit to a child that you don’t know the answer to the question. You can even refer
the question back to the child by saying, “I don’t know, what do you think?”
2. Be encouraging. Always focus on what they can do instead of what they can’t do.
Be generous in praising them for every little good thing they do. This will give them
the courage to try harder and feel good about themselves.

3. Don’t compare the children. Children are all special. Bring out the uniqueness of
each child by paying special attention to them when they participate and by
encouraging those shy ones to speak or to play with the others.
4. Enjoy serving with the children. Children can easily detect negative emotions.
These can sometimes bring down their spirit and allow them to lose interest in the
activity. Your enjoyment in working together at learning new activities and games will
build healthy emotions and can nourish the child’s self-esteem. Always keep a smile
on your face. It is an honor and a privilege to be serving those closest to God’s heart.
1. Purpose of Mingling
a. Allows you to relate to the participants/team.

2. Purpose of Seating Arrangement (the ideal is U shape)
a. It is easier to speak to the children because distance is cut.
b. Removes the formality of a classroom setting.
c. Children encourage one another to be more participative.
d. You become part of the group.
3. Purpose of Songs
a. Teaches the children to pray and to make prayer more enjoyable.
b. Enjoyable - God gets His message through with the least resistance.
c. Makes activity participative.
d. Energizes the sessions. (wakes the children up)
e. Gathers the children to start a session.
4. Purpose of Humor
a. Makes the children listen to/enjoy the sessions.
b. Establishes rapport with audience.
c. Makes a point easy to remember.
5. Purpose of Games
a. Makes sessions enjoyable.
b. Makes activities participative.
c. Energizes the camp.
V. EXPANDED OUTLINES
The topics to be discussed with the children should be short, very simple, and
informal. Visual aids - such as pictures or slide shows - may be used to sustain the
interest of the children in listening to the topics being discussed. Remember that the
attention span of children is very short. The sharings/personal testimonies must be alive
and exciting.
I. Who is God?
(Ask anyone who they think God is. They could recite it out loud or you can ask them to
try to draw a picture how they perceive God to be.)
The result would most probably describe God as:
- Creator - He made everything!
- good
- loving and kind
- controls the weather or something!

After this simple activity, affirm their description about God who is powerful, wise, and who
created everything.
God loves each and everyone of us. He created all of us. Without Him, we would not
be here. He loves us and wants us to be happy. He gives us beautiful things and all the
things we need. (Tell them to close their eyes and imagine the things God gave them that
makes them happy. After a minute, you can ask them what are the things God gave us
and take note of them.)
- The trees
- The sky
- Our pets
- the air we breathe and the water we use
- He gave us LIFE.
Yes, the most beautiful gift he gave us is our LIFE. He also gave others life so that we
may enjoy the things He made for us. He gave us our parents, our brothers and sisters.
He gave us everyone that we love.
God loves us and wants us to be happy. Our parents are there to take care of us. Our
brothers and sisters are there to help us. Our friends are there to play with us.
If God loves you, do you love God? How can your show you love God? Let us pray to
God. (Invite them for a short prayer. Tell them to repeat after you)
Lord,/ thank you for creating so many things for me./ Thank you for the trees,/ the
animals,/ the mountains,/ and the air./ Thank you/ for giving me life./ Thank you/ for my
parents,/ brothers and sisters,/ and friends. I know/ that you love me/ and want me to be
happy./ I also want to love you/ and make you happy./ Help me to be good/ so I can show
you my love/ and make you happy./ Amen.
Suggested Activities:
1. Marshmallow Sculptures
Materials: Marshmallows, toothpicks
Dynamics: Give each small group plenty of marshmallows and toothpicks. Ask them to
make something that God gave us using the marshmallows and toothpicks. Encourage
them to work as a team. Interview them later what are the things that they created. After
that they can eat the marshmallows.

I. Who is Jesus?
(Just like the first Topic, ask them who Jesus is and take note of their answers.)
Whenever we celebrate Christmas, who’s birthday is it? Yes, Jesus was born on
Christmas day. Jesus is the Son of God. God sent Jesus to us to show us how to love
God.
God loves us so much that He sent us His Son Jesus. God wants us to love others
just like Jesus did when he was here on earth. Let us love God by loving and following his
Son Jesus Christ. Let us pray:
Lord,/ help us to love Jesus./ He is good,/ obedient,/ and prayerful./ Help me/ to be like
him./ I want to be good,/ obedient,/ and prayerful./ I want to be His friend./ I want to love
others/ just like He did./ Help me/ to be like Jesus always/ so I may show you/ how I love
you./ Amen.
Dynamics: Distribute a copy of the questionnaire per participant. Have their pens ready.
Instruct them to check or encircle their answers. After having completed the questionnaire,
as a group, go over all the answers and reveal to them the right response for each
question.

Jesus loves everyone. How do you think He showed His love to people? Try to answer the
following questions and find out later what is the right way to do it.
God is good to us. But He is hurt when we do bad things. We cannot say “I love God” if
we are not good. That is why he wants us to be good boys and girls always. If we say
sorry for the wrong things we’ve done, God will always forgive us.
Read beforehand the story of the Prodigal Son. Then narrate the story to the kids in an
interesting way, emphasizing that God is like the father who forgives the sin if we say
sorry.
III. We can show our love for God by turning away from sin.

- by being selfish, stubborn
Remember the Prodigal Son. No matter how big our sins are, God will forgive us
because He loves us. Jesus is always here to help us be sorry for our sins and come
before His Father. Let us be sorry for all our sins and allow Jesus to wash us clean from
all our sinfulness.
Dynamics: Let the children write letters to God expressing their love and asking
forgiveness for their wrongdoings. These letters are to be offered during the Mass the
following day. The facilitators should make sure that each child is able to write to God.
Note: The letters may be read by the Couple Coordinators after the camp for evaluation
purposes only.
I. We have a Helper!
(Ask them if they know of any super hero who “helps” people.) Just like these super
heroes, do you know that there is someone greater than them who’s always ready to help
us? Do you know that there is someone who is always with us who helps us to be good?
He is called the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is God’s own Spirit. We cannot see Him. But He is always present. He
is with us, everyday, every hour, every minute, and every second. When we pray to Him,
he gives us the strength to be good and avoid sin and other bad things. We can also ask
help from Him when we are sad and troubled. He listens to us always. He makes us love
God even more!
Yes, we can. But we need to pray with someone and ask God to fill us with His Spirit.
We will do this later after this talk.
Before we can receive the Holy Spirit, we must first show God that we love Him and
the people He gave us.

B. We must express our love for our parents, brothers and sisters, and friends.
- God will be pleased if we show our love for these people
- He wants us to be obedient and loving
IV. Conclusion
God loves us. He sent Jesus to be our friend. He is now sending His Holy Spirit to
guide and strengthen us and to help us. Let us be ready to receive Him in our lives.
Instruct the parents to stay beside their child after this talk. The parents can invite their
kids to a place where they can start exchanging letters and having the dialogue. (It is
assumed that the parents have been oriented earlier about their letter to their children
and the dialogue that expresses love and forgiveness. They should also encourage their
children to receive the Holy Spirit and pray for their concerns during the pray-over.)
Gather the participants with their parents in the session hall. Make sure that the
parents are standing beside their children.
Tell the kids to sit with their hands on their lap as a sign of receiving. After settling
down remind the kids to be prayerful, asking God to send His Spirit to them. Ask the music
ministry to play a slow song previously taught earlier. After the song, the parents will lay
their hands over their children and pray over them. Make sure they are oriented of the
pray-over process:
1. Praising.
2. Pray for the child’s concerns.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to come to their child.
4. Thanksgiving prayer.
5. Close with Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
V. Worship
After everyone has been prayed-over, exhort the kids to thank God for the Holy Spirit
in them. The way to show it is through a series of songs and prayer called a worship. The
process is as follows:
1. Teach them to voice their praises (Thank you Lord, I love you Lord, I praise you!)
2. Explain raising of hands as a way of telling God “You are great!”
3. Start the worship with a fast song, then praising, then a slow song.
4. After the singing, lead the assembly in a simple thanksgiving prayer to God for sending
His Spirit to them.
5. Close the worship with a Glory Be. (A song is optional).

Dear Parents,
Greetings of peace!
CFC Kids for Christ would like to invite your children (ages 9-12) to a Kids Camp. This is a
2-day live-in camp, which aims to bring children closer to Jesus, and develop good
friendships with their brothers and sisters from Kids for Christ and Youth for Christ.
Please write a letter of love to each of your children who will be participating in this camp.
We encourage you to witness the final activity on the last day, at 9:30 a.m. It will be
followed by a Holy Eucharist Celebration from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. You are invited
to have lunch and fellowship with us and the other parents. Please bring food for potluck.
God has blessed us with the opportunity to know and work with Him closely. We pray for
your affirmative response. God bless you and your family always.
