THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

Laboratory equipment are needed by Healthcare personnel like physicians, nurses,

medical technologists, therapists, surgeon, autopsy personnel, etc. Lack and outdated of
Laboratory Equipment, affecting the Laboratory services. Here in Philippines, we
experience the shortage of Laboratory Equipment because of lack and outdate Laboratory
Equipment. Having lack and outdated of Laboratory Equipment in Hospitals, patients can
experience life –threatening.

Putting all the Hospitals and Clinics that have outdated and lack of Laboratory
Equipment in Balanga, Bataan. The public Hospital in Balanga, Bataan. (Bataan Generel
Hospital). Conducting the Hospitals and Clinics in Balanga, Bataan is a good idea to show
the different performance of Healthcare personnel lacking and outdated Laboratory
Equipment.

According to Pan Afr Med J. (2017) in study “Experience of nurses on the critical
shortage of Medical Equipment at a rural district Hospital in South Africa” the article
described the lived experiences of nurses working at a district Hospital with critical
shortage of Medical Equipment.
