Logic Puzzle

About March Break Activities (easier)

March Break came around and it was a winter wonderland with snow everywhere!
Five classmates talked about the outdoor winter activity they did over the break.
Using the clues below, can you figure out which classmate (one is Charlie) did what
activity (one is skiing) over the break?
Put an “✗” to mark off the boxes that don’t go together, and a “✓" when you find a
match. One thing is for sure, each kid was wearing the appropriate warm clothing and
had a blast!

Clues

1) Anna did not have to get her skates sharpened, because she did not go on an ice
surface.
2) Brad and his friends had a blast using their new sleds, and going down their
favourite hill.
3) Charlie did not use his snow fort building skills this break.
4) Anna loved the chair lift at her activity that brought her to the top of different hills.
She went up at least 15 times!
5) Suzie practiced her stopping at her activity, to get ready for her next hockey
game.

How do we know?
1) Anna did not have to get her skates sharpened, because she did not go on an ice
surface.
a. Therefore, we know Anna did not go skating, so we put an ✗ in the box that
connects Anna to skating

2) Brad and his friends had a blast using their new sleds, and going down their
favourite hill.
a. Therefore, Brad went tobogganing with his friends and sleds.
b. Put an ✓ in the box that connects Brad with tobogganing, and ✗ in the boxes
that connect Brad with the other activities, and tobogganing with the other
kids.

3) Charlie did not use his snow fort building skills this break.
a. Therefore, we know Charlie did not build a snow fort.

4) Anna loved the chair lift at her activity that brought her to the top of different hills.
She went up at least 15 times!
a. We know that Anna went skiing (where they are chairlifts).

5) Suzie practiced her stopping at her activity, to get ready for her next hockey
game.
a. We know that Suzie went skating during her break.
b. When we add the ✗ we can see that only Brad is left for the building a snow
fort, and then Charlie for going snowshoeing.
