How to prepare to making a possible winning sports page?
1. Be a sports enthusiast. If you can't be a sports
writer, then have at least an interest with sports (all
kinds of sports)
2. Be patient. Make clippings of different sports
stories of different sports events. Make sure to differ
thesports lingos used in each sport.
3. Train lots of writers and let them watch live sports
coverage. Let them be exposed to actual interview
(pre-game and post-game). Have them learn how to
make stats.
4. Be present at different sports events. (District
Meet, Division Meet, etc.)
5. Invest in camera with high-end photo (SLR).
6. Have more photojournalists as much as with your
sports writer. Remember, in a sports competition
there are many sports events and they are happening
simultaneously. Your writer is not a
superman/superwoman.
7. Have your sports writers a lot of references for
sports articles.
8. Give your sports writers viewing and writing
activity on sports they don't like.
Other things to
remember...
Photos, Layout and
Design really
