Reference: CG p. 73/ TG p. 267-268/ LM p. 112-114
Materials: laptop, speaker, activity sheets, meta card

III. PROCEDURE

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill
a. Let the pupils identify the shapes. (Integration of Mathematics subject)

2. Review
Give the antonym of the following word:
1. clean
2. tall
3. open
4. black
5. thick

3. Motivation
a. Show picture of a flag.
b. Ask:
“Where can we see the Philippine flag?”
“What will you do when the flag is being raised?”
“Do you have an idea why it is being raised?”

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
a. Reading of the poem with proper diction and pausing by the teacher. The title of the poem is “Our
Flag” written by Annalyn D. Mangurali.
b. Ask:
“What are the colors that can be seen in our flag?”
“What are the shapes that can be seen also in our flag?”
“What symbolizes our flag?”
“Is it important to have symbolism in our nation? Why? Why not?”

2. Discussion
a. Ask:
“What are the colors as mentioned in the poem? How about the shapes?”
b. Tell the pupils that the following words are describing words.
c. Show a picture of a person, thing, animals and places. Let the pupils describe it.
d. Let the pupils describe their family, friends and school.
e. Show another example.

C. Culminating Activities
1. Generalization
There are words that describe a person, things, animals and places. These words are called describing words.

2. Application
a. Call the leader of the group. Let them do the activity being given.
