Ambassadors,

You will be engaging in a rigorous, exciting challenge: you will be planning a community
event for 200-250 young black women in the Charlotte area. Today, we will be engaging
in a guided brainstorming session. It will be guided because I will provide you with this
list of questions that will need to be discussed (and hopefully somewhat answered) by
the end of this time together, however it will be facilitated entirely by you. Take notes
and maintain your ideas however you see fit.

Begin with the PERLPAL Pyramid. Draw the pyramid then discuss each element of it.
Remember to start from the top, go to the bottom, then work your way back upwards to
begin your planning. After addressing the pyramid, discuss the questions below.

Here are the questions you’ll need to discuss (in any order):
 What will the atmosphere be of your event? (How will you create that
environment)?
 Who will you need to contact?
 What skills do you have within your group to achieve tasks?
 What skills does your group not currently have that you may need to outsource?
 How will you divide and conquer? Will you break into groups? If so, what are the
groups?
 What is your budget? How much money do you need to achieve this event?
 Will you do any fundraising for your event?
 What is your schedule/Run of Show?
 Who will be responsible for what during the event?
 How can you utilize Mrs. Martin and Ms. Jackson?

I am here to support you! Let me know if you hit a roadblock or if I can assist in any
way.
- Jax
