● More vendors - target more towards natural hair products not accessories ● Structure within the panel - more informative and instructional ● Suggestion for (a) live demonstration(s) ● Bigger and better! We’ll plan in advance in attempts to secure a bigger location ● Emphasis on RTF Expectations for attendees: know what you want, how you want it, the vision for RTF etc. RTF “Vision”: ● Interaction! Attendees can walk around to different stylists’ booths at their own pace to explore. ● Vendors will also be at booths in the same area as the stylists so that their products can be broadcasted as well ● Interaction between the panel - Prepared questions as well as questions from the audience - Panelists need to be of variety but also of knowledge about natural hair. It is a natural hair exposition therefore most of the questions will be targeted towards that topic ● Bigger locations but relatively close so that attendees do not have to walk far from exhibit to Location Ideas: ● Student Union ● Cone Center - McKnight Hall, Lucas Room, Cone Plaza, McKnight Lobby ● SAC ● Student Union 340 multipurpose room ● Underground? Food: ● Company called Chartwells (YBLA has worked with them before) ● Jointly Provide (We may need to obtain food on our own in addition to what they may provide. This is depending on the amount of people we expect to attend) - Budgeting committee Stylists: ● Solidify roles - If we did a live demonstration, which stylists would like to participate in that? - Which stylists would like to participate in the hair show? - Could a stylists do both? - Some stylists may not want to do either Models: ● Push for stylists to bring their own models! And our own ● Expand to other student organizations? - DIVAS, 100 Black Women, Sororities etc. Panel: ● Have a more organized panel with secured questions depending on panelists ● Have a diverse group of panelists ● Make sure stylists are not rushed to do hair in order to participate in the panel - Scheduling Committee
