The ILM Level 3 Award is a short, focused course that’s ideal if you’re a current or aspiring first line manager. In any kind of
business, first line managers are the ones with their fingers on the pulse, managing staff, administering projects, budgeting,
reporting up the line, motivating the team, and still managing to keep their eye on the big picture.
The Level 3 Award will allow you to learn your choice of these skills and more. You’ll have a range of units to choose from, so you
can focus on the areas of leadership that will interest and benefit you the most. At only 34 guided learning hours, it’s ideal for
quickly enhancing your managerial potential.
It’s an internationally recognised qualification, so it’ll stand you in good stead no matter where you go. You’ll learn the focused
skills you need to develop as a first line manager - all without sacrificing your job, family time or social commitments. Your study
can be completely shaped around your life.
Plus, as the units you’ll study are simply a choice of the units that make up the Level 3 Certificate, it’s simple to move onto the
more comprehensive qualification if you choose. You’ll already be part of the way there.

About your course
The course sits on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 3, or Level 6 in the Scottish system.
Typically, students complete this course in around 4 months or less, but some do it more quickly depending on their circumstances.
We give you a support period of 6 months so that you have the flexibility to go at your own pace - you won’t be held back by
inconvenient deadlines or the pace of other students, and you can always take time off if life gets hectic.

To achieve the Level 3 Award, you’ll choose two out of four possible units to study.
You’ll complete an assignment for each unit. These will be submitted through the online Student Community - its the fastest way
to get your paper marked and receive your results.
