BRIGHTEST
CREATIVE MINDS
In the 11 years since the inaugural Asia Young Designer Awards, the
world has changed immeasurably. In our region alone, economic
development has lifted millions from poverty, yet our environment faces
profound threats.
Huge improvements in quality of life are accompanied by significant challenges of
economic inclusion. And everywhere, from the most remote villages to the region’s
most sophisticated megacities, technology is powering a new form of transformation.
Challenges abound, but the potential for young people to impact the future has never
been greater. That’s why Nippon Paint is proud to support this program and will
remain committed to recognising and empowering the region’s brightest creative

minds.
Our theme this year reflects the need to provide practical design solutions for
this new world. Forward: A Sustainable Future aims to capture the imagination
of the next generation of architects and interior designers- acting as a catalyst
for their talent to transform the future of our built environments.
Participants and winners in past years’ AYDA programs are already making their
presence felt in the design and architecture industries, and in the process impacting
lives for the better. We can’t wait to see how this year’s generation will bring their
visions to life, and make a sustainable future real for all of us.
