CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRY

Online learning emerged in 1982 when the Western Behavioural Sciences Institute in La Jolla,
California opened its School of Management and Strategic Studies. The School employed
computer conferencing to deliver a distance education program to business executives. In 1989
the University of Phoenix began offering education programs through the internet. In 1993 with
the debut of the first Internet web browser, created by the University of Illinois, online learning
began to flourish. In 1998, the first fully online programs were founded: New York University
Online, Western Governor's University, the California Virtual University and Trident University
International.

Over six million students currently take one or more of their courses online; 50% of universities
offer an online degree program. These numbers are only growing. Technology has changed the
nature of education—and the jobs of educators. Online instruction requires different methods to
help students learn. This course is designed to help teachers update their skill sets to teach
effectively online.

Online learning is the newest is the most popular form of distance education today .within the
past decade it had a major impact on post secondary education and the trend is only increasing.

Online learning is education that is place over the internet this is often refer to as E-learning
among other terms however online learning is just one time of distance learning. It has along
history and there are several types available including.

1. Corresponds courses - conducted through regular mail and little interaction

India holds an important place in the global education industry. India has one of the largest
networks of higher education institutions in the world. However, there is still a lot of potential
for further development in the education system.India has the world’s largest population of about
500 million in the age bracket of 5-24 years and this provides a great opportunity for the
education sector. The education sector in India is estimated at US$ 91.7 billion in FY18 and is
expected to reach US$ 101.1 billion in FY1

The online education sector in India, which now covers a plethora of start-ups offering audio-
visual courses to test preparation material, is estimated to grow at a compound annual growth
rate of 52% by 2021, according a joint study by Google and KPMG.

➢ The budget set for starting up is Rs.10 lakh which would be insvested by all the 9
members of the group.

and many more kind of hidden costs which are as follows :-

➢ The Approx. cost of developing an application is RS 7,00,000 to RS 8,00,000.

➢ Cost of hiring the teachers would be approx.Rs 3,00,000 to Rs 4,00,000.

10 Biggest Hidden Costs of Mobile App Development :-

➢ As, we have get huge amount of investment from the investors. So, that we are not
making loss.

4. Capital

➢ We have get total capital of RS 1 crore from the investors.

Benefits of Startup Business Loan from Banks

Availing a business loan from banks for a start-up can be advantageous in many ways, as
compared to availing funds from some other financial institutions. Benefits of Start-up Business
are the following:

➢ The new entrepreneurs are granted tax relief for 3 years

➢ Funds from venture capitals are quite expensive for a startup with investors of venture
capital asking for as much as 5 to 10 times of the return on their investment. However, a
bank loan does not require any equity dilution and the rate of return to the bank is fixed at
a nominal interest rate
➢ Banks are easier to approach. With plenty of banks available in India, it is simpler to
approach local banker and request for funds
➢ Banks in India have an established and well-structured framework for processing the
funding request of entrepreneurs. Therefore, loan request will be processed more quickly
compared to capitalist investors
➢ Another significant benefit is that the profit (as well as the loss) of the business belongs
only to borrower. Borrowers are not answerable to the bank about the profit and loss of
their businesses

Some Government based start-up business loans in India are

➢ CGTMSE Scheme
➢ Mudra Yojana
➢ Bank Credit Facilitation Scheme
➢ National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)
CHAPTER 7

CRITICAL RISK

7.1 Potential Problems

➢ At the time of exams, there is a chance that teachers may not be available when student
actually wants to study any particular topic.
➢ If teacher gets the fake certificate from the market that is harmful for the students who
are using our application.

7.2 Obstacle and Risks

➢ As this type of application is not surviving in the market there is a risk somewhere for
the success.
➢ In the beginning of our project it’s hard to convince the faculty (teachers) who are much
experienced to teach the students directly at their home.
➢ There is issue of the fake teachers and fake students also if they are just trying for the
fun or for passing their time.

7.3 Alternative course of action

➢ Other than this type of content we can also start that is, recorded lectures, online doubt
solving, topic discussion but on the application itself.
➢ At the time of exams when the students want to learn actually at that time the fees
(charges) will be increased so that teacher can think accordingly.
CHAPTER 8

ANNEXURE

➢ This survey was conducted by the students of GLS University and the information
provided in this survey would be used only for project purposes.
