III. Summary:
It is said that the Mission of the Philippine Red Cross is to “provide humanitarian
service and aims to build a corps of volunteers all over the country”. With this, as the
DRR Coordinator, it is my pleasure to have a short Orientation in our school to our
dear pupils regarding “Reducing and Preparing for Disaster Risks in School for the
purpose of informing everyone to be always be ready, what are the Do’s and Don’ts
and how they are going to help and save our Mother Earth.

It started at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon. All grade level students in Sta. Isabel
Elementary School participated the activity. The topics that was provided in the flip
chart given by the Red Cross Team are discussed thoroughly which students are
actively participative. After the discussion, a game (passing the ball) is given. As the
music plays, they will pass the ball and whoever the students holding the ball when it
stops, he/she is the one who will answer the question regarding the topics. The
students enjoyed while answering the question. It was successfully done and meet the
expectation that students will understand and apply this in their lives.

IV. Actual Result/ Outcome:

The students were able to understand the importance of having this orientation that
can apply them in their everyday lives for the preparation of what tomorrow could
bring. It is possible that we must be prepared in all times and in all ways.

V. Problems Encountered:
So far with this activity, there are no problems encountered. All are actively
participative during discussion and enjoying every single of it.

VI. Lesson Learned:

It is best to have this, in such a way that we can impart knowledge to young individuals
who in one way could help them more prepared for any disaster that could possible
encountered.

VII. Sustainability/ Replication:

Children are our Hope of our Nation. In this very young age, they are able to manifest
the importance of taking care of our environment, molding and engaging them to in
a humanity service therefore as time pass by, I for one is hoping that each of this
individuals will serve for the betterment of our society and able to have a heart that is
open to help those who are in need.
