Abstract

Public Utility Vehicle is one of the main source of transportation in our country.

The use of our current jeepneys is been running for a long time now, but the

government has a better plan for our transportation system. They are proposing

jeepney modernization to be able to improve our transportation. In order to further

explore what is the jeepney modernization, this research study is conducted.

The purpose of this study is to determine the Effects of Jeepney Modernization

as Perceived by the Jeepney Drivers of Commercial Complex Balibago Terminal

at Santa Rosa, Laguna. This study also sought to answer the following questions:

1) What is the demographic profile of the respondents and what are the perception

of the jeepney driver to the jeepney modernization?

Fifty jeepney drivers were purposively selected from the Commercial Complex

Balibago terminal at Santa Rosa, Laguna as respondents. Each respondents

answer the survey questionnaire given to them. After the data gathering, it is

analyzed and interpreted. After all the data on the questionnaires are gathered it

is analyzed and interpreted to be able to have a summary, findings, conclusions,

and recommendations.

This thesis is dedicated to our family - for without family, we are nothing.

First, I would like to dedicate this to our mothers. They are the best person we
have ever met, and they are the rock on which our life is built. Their consistent
encouragement made this possible, as there were times when we were off of the
path, and their encouragement got us back on track. The world is a better place
because they are in it, and we will forever love them. I also dedicate this to my
children, Anthony (Cheech) and Matthew (Bam).

We also want to dedicate this to our fathers for the example and work ethic
that they provided for us. From an early age we were able to see that if you worked
hard enough, you can achieve anything. In addition, we thank them for instilling in
me the importance of education - at the time we did not know that it would become
our world, but we are grateful daily for their insistence.

We dedicate this to our sibling as well. The natural manner in which they
accepted and encouraged us have made us a better students. We have learned
much about life from the time we have spent together.
