Calculation of Trial mix no.1

TARGET STRENGTH FOR MIX PROPORTIONING

Characteristic Strength of Concrete = 35 N/mm2

Current Margin as per IS code 1.65x5 = 8.25 N/mm2

Therefore, Target strength = 43.25 N/mm2

SELECTION OF WATER CEMENT RATIO

Maximum Water cement Ratio as per MORTH = 0.4

Based on experience,Adopt w/c ratio as = 0.38

0.38< 0.4 Hence O.K.

SELECTION OF WATER CONTENT

Based on trial for required workability
water content taken as -
= 174.8 Kg/Cum

CALCULATION OF CEMENT CONTENT

Adopted Water cement ratio = 0.38

Cement content = 174.8/0.38= 460 Kgs/Cum

As Per Morth at Moderate Exposure, minimum cement content = 300 Kgs/Cum

460 > 300 Hence O.K.

Therefore, Adopted Cement Content = 460

And Water Content = 174.8

Note: - Aggregates should be used in saturated surface dry condition. If otherwise, when computing the requirement of mixing water, allowance
shall be made for the free (surface) moisture contributed by the fine and coarse aggregates. On the other hand, if the aggregates are dry, the
amount of mixing water should be increased by an amount equal to the moisture likely to be absorbed by the aggregates. necessary adjustments
are also required to be made in mass of aggregates. The surface water and percent water absorption of aggregates shall be determined to IS:
2386.

A -12 MIX DESIGN RECCOMMENDENDATION-

1, This mix design based on 7 & 28 Days compressive strength of concrete cube test result, it is suggested to take plant mix trials & check

7 & 28 days strength before using concrete works.

2, This mix design only valid for sources provided by customer with given cement and admixture brand.

3, This mix design is based on saturated surface dry condition of coarse and fine aggregates, water correction should be apply for site
surface moisture correction of fine and coarse aggregates to avoid extra water mixing & low quantity of material adding in mix.
4, Cement shoud be use in fresh condition as possible.

5, Workability of concrete mix should be adjust during temperature variation due to climate condition by adding or decreasing dosage
of admixture no extra water adding during mixing and at site, only some admixture adding during lossing of slump.
adding during lossing of slump.
adding during lossing of slump.
6, After received the report customer must be check or verify the mix by plant batch and take slump, making cube and check 7 ,28 days
strength if any type inconvenient found then please communicate to lab .
