KYOCERA Net Manager

System Requirements
Configuration
Server / PC:*
RAM 4GB* CPU Cores (2GHz):
Without parsing
Printers (per server) Cores (per server):
Up to 100 2
Up to 400 4
Up to 600 8

For systems with large number of direct queues, we

strongly recomment using SSD.
With parsing RAM 4GB*
Minimal requirements for activated parser: 4 CPU cores
(2HGz) or more (depends on the size of the installation.)

Easy Job Server with 100+ clients that uses Easy Job Manager Manager* requires 2+ CPU
cores just for EJM operations.

Recommended Users: up to 100,000 (30,000 to 60,000 per one

No. of Users: synchronizing line. Depends on the length and amount of
fields for synchronization.) Groups: up to 50,000.

Storage space: Volume 500,000 pages per month: 4 pages per job, 6250 jobs per business
day.

Application Log: Accounting Print jobs: files: records:

100 MB (14 Depends on
300 MB days) 6GB (4 year the amount
history) of print.

Operating Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2/ 2012 / 2012 R2 / 2016 system:
Windows / 7/ 8/ 8.1/ 10 **

Mozilla Firefox 38 and higher versions (Recommended)
Internet Explorer 10 and higher versions
Microsoft Edge
Older version of web browsers will not work as required (For example, IE 8 does not support the
drag and drop function.)

*Recommended configuration may vary according to system load.

**We recommend using a server OS.

Server Installation
The installation file contains the Firebird database server, the Apache web server, and the PHP application. When
using Scan Management, KYOCERA Net Manager (KNM) uses an SMTP server. If other systems using databases,
KNM web interface, PHP, or email servers are running on the same server, a system collision may appear, causing
malfunction of one of the systems. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you install KNM on a server with a newly
installed operating system. KNM supports installation on virtual machines.

Main KNM Communication Ports

KNM uses the following ports which should be left unallocated and enabled in the firewall:
• TCP Port 25 – SMTP protocol uses this port for Scan Management. If not enabled, KNM will not receive
scanned jobs
• TCP Port 515 – LPR protocol for print job transmission to the KNM server. If not enabled, KNM will not receive
jobs. If the print drivers are installed on the same hardware as KNM, it is not necessary to enable Port 515 in the
firewall
• TCP Port 3050 – Protocol for communication with the Firebird database server. If not enabled, KNM cannot
connect to the database, and the system will be shown as down. This port is also important for central data
replication from other KNM servers
• TCP Port 8080 – HTTP protocol for an access to the web interface, communication with Embedded (HyPAS)
Termnals, and job roaming among KNM servers. If not enabled, the KNM web interface cannot be displayed on
other computers in the network, Embedded (HyPAS) Termnals will not communicate properly, and the Job
Roaming feature will not function
• TCP Port 8090 - Performs the same function as Port 8080, but on this port, KNM runs in encrypted mode
secured by certificate
• UDP Port 161 – SNMP protocol serves for communication with printing devices. If not enabled, all printing
devices in the KNM system will show as offline
• UDP Ports 11108 – Used by terminal communication protocols. If not enabled, authorization of KNM terminals is
disabled
• UDP Port 11112 - KNM Easy Job Manager communication protocol. Used for LPM.
• ICMP Protocol – Must be allowed for proper communication with devices. If not allowed, device status remains
Unreachable
• TCP Port 9100 - Used by RAW protocol to send print jobs from KNM to devices
Installation

• TCP Port 631 - Used by IPP protocol to send print jobs from KNM to devices
• TCP Port 443 - Used by IPPS protocol to send print jobs from KNM to devices
Open the following ports to enable the features of KYOCERA Provider:
• TCP Port 9090 - 9091 - TCP ports 9090 and 9091 are necessary for remote setup of Kyocera Embedded
(HyPAS) Termnals
• TCP Port 9093 - 9099 - TCP port 9094 is used for access to printing devices and cannot be changed
• TCP Port 631 - Used by IPP protocol to send Mobile print jobs
• TCP Port 717 - Used by IPPS protocol to send Mobile print jobs
Some of these ports can be changed if there is a conflict with other applications.
Communication port collision with other software will call up an error message:
Windows socket error 10048.
