RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

3.1 RESEARCH DESIGN

A research design is a systematic approach that a researcher uses to conduct a scientific

study. It is the overall synchronization of identified components and data resulting in a
plausible outcome. To conclusively come up with an authentic and accurate result

Types of Research Design

• Exploratory Research: Just as the word implies, it explores, that is to find out about
something by answering the question in “what” or “How” manner.
• Descriptive Research: This is a more in-depth research, that answered the question
what and how.
• Explanatory Research: This seeks to explain the subject matter being researched and
tries to answer the question what, how and why.
• Evaluation Research: This is quite extensive as it measures the effectiveness of a
program.

3.2 ANALYTICAL RESEARCH

• In Analytical Research, the researcher has to use facts or information already

available and analyse them to make a critical evaluation of the material.

• It involves the in-depth study and evaluation of available information in an attempt

to explain complex phenomenon. A n a l yt i c a l R e s e a r c h i s p r i m a r i l y c o n

analysing the facts or information already available.

SUB –DIVISIONAL ANALYTICAL RESEARCH

• Historical Research
• Philosophical Research
• Review
• Research Synthesis (Meta-Analysis)

HISTORICAL RESEARCH

It is the study of past records and other information sources, with a view to find the origin
and development of a phenomenon and to discover the trends in the past, in order to
understand the present and to anticipate the future

PHILOSOPHICAL RESEARCH

It is the research in the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality and existence. It is there
search/study of the theoretical basis of a branch of knowledge or experience.

REVIEW

It is the process of a formal assessment of a research with the intention of instituting/making

any change in it if necessary.

RESEARCH SYNTHESIS

It is the process through which two or more research studies are assessed with the objective
of summarizing the evidence relating to a question

METHODOLOGY

The study is based on both primary and secondary data.

• Primary

data is intended to be directly collected from within the organization and outside the
organization, by interviewing, through phone calls and applying calculations using statistical
tools.

• Secondary

data for the study is intended to be collected from organizations database, websites, and other
necessary official records, books & magazines. Tables & Charts used to present and analyse
data. Ratios & Percentages are applied for analysis

3.3 SOURCES OF DATA

To achieve the above said objectives the fallowing methodology has been adopted. The
information for the report has been collected from Bridge with the help of primary and
secondary sources.

Primary data: the data is collected through the observation in the organization and
interaction with the financial department. It is also called as first handed information.

Sources of primary data:

• Primary data was collected by a discussion with the company guide.

• Data was collected through interaction with personnel who are working in
finance & accounts departments of the organization.

Secondary data: it has been collected through various books, magazines, journals and
websites.

Sources of secondary data:

• Reports and publications of government department.

• Newspapers

• Magazines

• Company records and other documents
