I. Objective
Demonstrate proper focusing technique
II. Materials
Microscope
Cover slip
Dropper
Glass Slide
Slide of colored crossed threads(red,blue,and yellow)
III. Procedures
The teacher will instruct you on how to use the microscope. Follow all
the nstructions carefully.
Get a slide of colored crossed threads from your teacher. View the
slide under the microscope.
Set your objective lens to the low power objective. Lower your
objective lens until it reaches the stage. Slowly raise the objective lens
until a thread comes into focus.
The first lens that comes into focus is the ne on top of the other threads.
Repeat this until you determine which thread color is the one ontop,
middle, and bottom.
IV. Observations
Draw the image of the three threads as observed under the microscope
on the table below. Color only the thread in focus for each column.
