(Activity related)

The word ‘Simulation’ means to imitate exactly. A simulation is an imitation of the operation of a real-
world process or system. This way simulation is a form of Role Playing where in student teachers
display this skill spontaneously.

Simulation (in computer science): The technique of representing the real world by a computer.
“Simulation is the controlled representation of reality” or ‘A simulation is a replica of reality’.

e.g: chess was assumed as the original form of the war game. It’s a classic example of simulation.
Different video war game is a excellent example of Virtual Reality Simulation
simulation.

Simulation means role- playing or rehearsal in which the process of teaching is carried out artificially.
Simulated teaching is a teacher training technique. It is used to bring about modification in the
behavior of the teacher. It introduces pupil teacher to teach in non-stressful conditions.

Advantage of allowing learners to ‘reset’ the scenario and try alternative strategies and
approaches. This allows learners to develop experience of specific situations by applying their
wider learning and knowledge.
Simulations take a number of forms. They may contain elements of: a game/ a role-play, or/ an
activity that acts as a metaphor.

Simulated teaching is the technique of learning and training, which develops the ability in an
individual regarding problem solving behaviour. It has been defined as a role playing strongly in which
learner performs the role in an artificially created environment.

Simulation education is a bridge between classroom learning and real-life clinical experience. ...
Whether training in a “full mission environment” or working with a desk top virtual reality machine that
copies the features of a risky procedure, training simulations do not put actual patients at risk.

Different types of Simulation

Top 5 Modern Teaching Strategies

Cooperative Learning: The Jigsaw

Cooperative learning gives students the opportunity to work with others and see different points of
view.

Inquiry-Based Instruction

Inquiry-based learning strategies are used to engage students to learn by asking questions,
investigating, exploring, and reporting what they see. This process leads students to a deeper
understanding of the content that they are learning.

Differentiated Instruction: Learning Stations

According to Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory, every person has a different mind, and
therefore each person learns and understands information differently. Differentiating instruction offers
a way to meet all students’ needs.

Flexible Grouping is a good way to successfully implement Differentiated Instruction

Strategy.

Graphic Organizers

The most popular organizers are the Venn diagram, concept map, KWL chart, and T Chart.
