Competency Quarter 2

Knowledge: Differentiate angle of incidence and angle of reflection. Week 7

Learning Skills : Measure the angle of reflection and the angle of incidence. No.
Objectives Attitudes: Show precautionary measures in the safety and proper use of
Day 1

Awareness Video Presentation:
“Laws of Reflection” (www.smartlearningforall.com)
This video shows the ideas about angle of incidence and angle of reflection.

Activity Group Activity: Angle of incidence vs. Angle of Reflection

In this activity the students will compare the angle of incidence and angle of reflection.
They will able to state the law of reflection.

Analysis 1. How does the angle of incidence compare with the angle of reflection?
2. How is the law of reflection being stated?

Abstraction Idea: The angle of incidence (0i) is equal to the angle of reflection (0r). In symbols: 0i=0r.
: “The normal line, incident ray, and the reflected ray lie on the same plane”

Application Ask the question:

1. Why do the laser/laser pointers should not be pointed directly on one’s eye?

Assessment Using the diagram below show the idea depicts from the video and activity.

Assignment Reflection of light is employed significantly in making optical instruments like

periscopes. Research how light travels in a periscope.
