Search for EINSTEIN OF THE YEAR is formerly known for years as the Science Quiz Bee. It
is modified from having 10 teams, constituted by 6 members helping each other for an answer,
to individual. It is to ensure that each student could be given a chance to play from the elimination
round up to the level he or she can possibly achieve. Guidelines are herein provided to guarantee
the smooth flow of the search.
The Guidelines
1. All students enrolled from grade 7 up to grade 12 are qualified Participants, except from
the YES-O Officers who will serve as Facis.
2. Players will play individually.
3. Teachers will serve as the Quiz Masters every month.
4. Players will fall in line to the letter of their choice from Y, E, S and O found in front of
them.
5. Players are given 5 seconds to decide and fall in line to the letter of their answer.
6. The show will have three categories: Elimination Round, Face-off Round and Final Round.
Scores are listed below
7. Each player who will be eliminated will submit his/her name to the science teacher upon
elimination to be given a corresponding score. The level he/she played will be the
maximum score required in the e-class record.
8. Scores will be a parcel of the student’s written output.
9. For the last question of the elimination round, “first 10” players for each letter will be
selected, and whose players’ answer is correct shall proceed to the next round.
10. Those 10 players will play the Face-Off Round with 10 questions using buzzers in front of
them. First to press the buzzer shall be the first to answer.
11. If the answer is correct, he/she will occupy the player’s slot for the final round.
12. Once the answer is wrong, that will mean a chance for steal to the next player.
13. The first 5 players who got the 5 slots will play the final round.
14. The player who will finish with highest score shall be declared winner and shall be called
“Einstein of the Month”.
15. He/she will then reign within the month and defend the title against the challenger. The
title remains unless defeated by the challenger and turn it over, per say, the crown and
sash to the next winner.
16. All students except those who are exempted by the guidelines shall again participate in
the next month’s search.
17. The winner up to the last month of the search shall be titled “EINSTEIN OF THE YEAR”.
These guidelines are final and shall apply in every month’s Search for Einstein of the Year.
