General Objective:

By the end of the course, students from sixth semester from the BA in Tourism at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, will
attain an intermediate English level (B1) by practicing, the language throughout the course using communicative functions, in order to
pass the subject.

Specific Objectives:

▪ They will be able to describe places, experiences, events, feelings, emotions and attitude on topics that are familiar, of
personal interest or pertinent to everyday life.
▪ They will be able to exchange opinions in written and spoken discourse on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or
pertinent to everyday life.
▪ They will be able to express agreement and disagreement when talking about leisure on topics that are familiar, of personal
interest or pertinent to everyday life.
▪ They will be able to start and close a conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life.
▪ They will be able to manage interaction in a conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to
everyday life.

information from descriptions of places, experiences, events, feelings, emotions and attitudes, interacting
with different classmates using a wide range of vocabulary.
Lesson 1 Introducing Puebla.
Lesson objective: By the end of the lesson, students from sixth semester from the BA in Tourism will be able to describe
places, from different pictures of the most representative places in Puebla, using a wide range of
vocabulary.

Describing places Puebla de Zaragoza, is the capital of Puebla’s
State. It is the 4th largest in the Mexican Republic.
 It’s located in the eastern of the region of the
country. It has a population of more than 6168883
million people. Puebla has a rich history. It is well
known for its cathedral, the historic downtown, El
Parian and the street of the sweets among other
places.

Describing past Last year I went to Puebla, and visited many
experiences and interesting places, we went to “El Parian” which
events was built in 1805. We bought different souvenirs,
we also tried lots of different kind of food and
sweets, we have an amazing time.
