The Sorting Hat Song

"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty, You might belong in HUFFLEPUFF

Where they are just and loyal,

But don't judge on what you see,
Those patient HUFFLEPUFFS are true,
I'll eat myself if you can find
And unafraid of toil;
A smarter hat then me.

Or yet in wise old RAVENCLAW,

You can keep your bowlers black,
If you've a ready mind,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
Where those of wit and learning,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
Will always find their kind;
And I can cap them all.

Or perhaps in SLYTHERIN,
There's nothing hidden in your head
Where you'll meet your real friends,
The Sorting Hat can't see,
Those cunning folk use any means,
So try me on and I will tell you
To achieve their ends.
Where you ought to be.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!

You might belong in GRYFFINDOR,
And don't get in a flap!
Where dwell the brave at heart,
You're in safe hands (though I have
Their daring, nerve and chivalry,
none)
Set GRYFFINDORS apart;
For a Thinking Cap."
