Technical conditions

Air performance
The minimum required motor power at operating temperature is equal to 355 kW taking into account the
dust content

The motor must also take into account the gas temperature at starting and the starting time

The fan should be started with inlet vanes or dampers closed.

In order to avoid vibrations, due to pressure pulsations on the fan or the system ducts, the flow at continuous
operation must be greater than 30% of the flow at full opening in order to obtain stable operation

Impeller + Hub
Welding will be carried out following qualified procedures according to ISO 15614-1 or 2 standards or according to
ASME code Section IX.

Welders will be qualified according to ISO 9606-1 or 2 standards or according to ASME code Section IX.

Unless otherwise specified, the rotor is designed for continuous operation or cyclic operation with a maximum of
5000 starts

For a fan operating at variable speed, the number of large amplitude speed variations (greater or equal to 50% of
maximum speed)is limited to 5000

The rotor balancing is performed according standard ISO DIN 1940-1 quality 6.3

Shaft + Bearings + Stator


The coupling saftey factor is equal to 1.5 (ratio maximum design torque to motor torque at operating speed)

In case of star-delta starting or in the eventuality of micro-power failure, it is adviced to install a fitted temporizing

The brands and designations of some composents (bearings, couplings, actuators, etc) are given for reference only
and may be changed at the final design stage

Calculations have been made taking into account a motor power equal to 355 kW. A higher value, for this power,
may have an impact on the rotor design.

The critical speed ratio is calculated with a radial stiffness of 3e9 N/m at bearing axis location.
